The idea behind the unique design of the FURTIF® chair was inspired by origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. The backrest moves flexibly in all three dimensions and promises a totally new ergonomic seating experience. The FURTIF® office chair is produced by ITOKI, a renowned manufacturer in Japan. Innovation and sustainability are firmly anchored in the company‘s mission statement and drive its efforts to improve the physical and mental state of people at work. This design chair exceeds the highest environmental standards and is sustainably manufactured. For example, the seat upholstery is made of 50% recycled polyester.
The FURTIF® design chair is certified according to the GREENGUARD Gold guidelines, which, in addition to prescribed emission limits, also take into account strict health criteria for chemicals.

THE ERGONOMIC SEAT FEATURES OF THE FURTIF® OFFICE CHAIRIn the modern workplace, a healthy and variable posture is important. Ergonomics is no longer just something to be desired. Instead, it is a basic requirement for every work station.
FURTIF® ensures a healthy posture each and every day on the job for:
FURTIF® sets new standards for modern swivel chairs on the European market with optimal distribution of pressure in the seat and back through differently arranged polygons. Thanks to the upholstery, the thoughtful layer structure, and the special interplay of soft and hard synthetic resin materials among the polygons, this design chair creates the basis for a particularly pleasant sitting experience.
The special tilt function ensures that users can change their working position to a relaxation position more often, without having to operate the adjustment functions of the chair.
The multifaceted backrest clings to the body in all three dimensions, thus supporting the natural shape of the back. This seat ergonomics avoids neck and back pain while helping to prevent fatigue while working.
CONCENTRATED WORKTo promote concentration, the FURTIF® supports the lower back when sitting upright, both from the back as well as from the sides.
TEAMWORK AND COMMUNICATIONWhen speaking with colleagues at the next desk, the FURTIF® moves with the upper back as it rotates and thus provides further support to the body.
BREAKSIn order to avoid tension during long periods of concentration, the upper body should be stretched and extended. This is where the FURTIF® adapts optimally: the lateral muscles can open up and the trunk and back can relax.
RELAXED WORKINGLong hours at the desk can be done much more efficiently in a relaxed posture. If users lie back slightly while seated, the FURTIF® continuously adapts to the shape of the back, thus supporting a permanently relaxed posture.
