One - To - One Syllabus Project Upon completing this course the student will be able to move on to Advanced English Grammar usage and have a refined fluency to his/her speech. I will incorporate the students' subject area of study and personal hobbies as a starting point for relevant reading, writing, speaking, and listening task materials. There will be a balance of the different skills and grammar points throughout the ten lessons so that we are improving all aspects of ones language abilities. The lessons will last one and a half hours two times a week. Each lesson will include authentic materials from the internet, Interchange Book 3, New Interchange Book 3, and English Grammar in Use (Raymond Murphy 2nd edition). Lesson 1: SPEAKING: SWBAT Explain How many stages are involved in the production of a movie (animation, studio, location, and digitally altered). RESOURCE: Interchange Book 3 Unit 14 and English Grammar in Use 2nd Edition pg. 40-41 GRAMMAR POINT: The passive to describe process with is/are + past participle and modal + be+ past participle; defining and non defining relative clauses Lesson 2: READING http://www.raisesmartkid.com/all-ages/1-articles/53-how-to-make-math-fun CONTEXT: SWBAT explain the fundamentals of learning mathematics GRAMMAR POINT: will be able to distinguish the use of verb tenses Lesson 3: LISTENING: SWBAT Write an informal e-mail to a friend about ”Top 10 Annoying catchy Songs” according to “watchmojo.com " RESOURCE:www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcqUv3mBK3o Lesson 4: WRITING: SWBAT Write an article for a local magazine regarding his move to Canada.
