Miss Caitlin says

“Goodbye” “How lucky I am to have

something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

A.A. Milne (Winnie-the-Pooh)

“When I was first offered the Children’s and Youth Services position at Middlesboro I was so happy I cried. It has been a passion of mine to work with children and this job provided such a wonderful opportunity to do just that. One of the best parts about being the Children’s Librarian was working with children from newborn to teens. My heart filled with joy as I watched them grow over the last two years and the relationships I was able to build with them and their families. As much as I hope I have taught them, they have taught me, too. When I took on this role I was already in the process of completing my Master’s degree in Special Education. I had been looking for years to find a teaching position and never found the right one which made taking the Children’s Librarian position that much more exciting. With my Master’s degree complete, I thought I owed it to myself at least one last time to apply to a teaching position. Never once did I want to leave my Librarian position because my next step was to begin working on my Library Science degree. But God has a tendency to put things into place in the moments you least expect Him to. I received an offer to teach 8th grade Special Education at Lynn Camp…again I cried. Not only was I happy to have an opportunity to teach but I was sad because I have truly loved being a Children’s Librarian. Just as Moira Rogers said, “the two hardest things to say in life are hello for the first time and goodbye for the last.” It is a bittersweet moment and with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to my fantastic co-workers and all the sweet people of the Middlesboro Community.”

Congratulations, Caitlin! We’re proud of

you and wish you the very best in

everything you do! We will miss you!
