Standards Materials Instructions VA:Cr1.1.5 Combine ideas to generate an innovative idea for art-making. • Square 1 art paper • Pencil & eraser • Markers • 4”x4” white paper Phase 1 • Show students Op art by artist Bridget Riley. • Draw a dot in the center of the art paper. • Draw an even number of lines from the dot to the edge of the paper. • Choose two complementary colored markers and color the background. Phase 2 • Complete Op art coloring. • Trace pencil lines (between each color) with a black marker. • Show students examples of contour line drawings. • Students should draw a con- tour line drawing of their shoe on small white paper- draw big and fill the space! Phase 3 • Complete contour line draw- ing. • Trace with a black marker. • Cut out and glue to center of paper covering the dot. • Sign name with black marker.
