If an animal’s tattoo is not legible or cannot be read upon initial processing, it will be ineligible to show and not be allowed to return with a new or corrected tattoo.

5. To maintain a high degree of confidence in Limousin shows, NALF reserves the right to disqualify any animal that has been fitted in an unethical manner. Unethical fitting shall include the following: a) Any use of paints, colored show foam, graphite, colored powders or other substances; animals may be subject

to a white-towel test; b) The addition of any hair or hair like substances, including false tail heads and false polls (false tail switches are

classes may be split or combined only within their given division. 11. Calves exhibited alongside dams in the cow-calf division are eligible to show as individuals if an entry fee is paid at

Credibility Requirement: To maintain a high degree of integrity and credibility in all Limousin shows, all owners and exhibitors are expected to adhere to all NALF rules and regulations regarding the exhibition of Limousin cattle and to adhere to rules and regulations of particular shows, fairs and exhibitions.

STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE (SOE) SHOW RULES

The purpose of the SOE program is to assist in identifying and recognizing outstanding sires and dams of the breed. This will be accomplished on the basis of show ring placing of their offspring. The SOE shows shall be the “picture window” events of the year for PAUS.

Only Full bloods and Purebreds will be allowed to show in SOE shows. Purebreds are stated as the following: 15/16 Piedmontese or higher for females and 31/32 or higher for males. All Purebreds shall have the color and characteristics of the Piedmontese breed to show in PAUS SOE Shows.

All animals must be registered with one of the Associations; if the animal is not registered, they can show with an affidavit. An affidavit is only good for one show and for a breeder to receive an affidavit on an animal the following must be completed:

1. Cattle registration application must be paid for and in the PAUS office. 2. Hair must be received by Geneseek, Inc.

NOTE: No animal over a year of age will be issued an affidavit.

At SOE shows, other than the breed’s National Show, SOE points are credited to both the sire and dam of a calf in individual classes. The National Show points will be double the amounts shown below. Points will be awarded as follows:

2. Division Champions (Calf, Junior and Senior) receive 2 additional points. 3. Division Reserve Champions receive 1 additional point. 4. Grand Champions will receive 5 additional points. 5. Dams must accumulate at least 35 SOE points to attain GOLD TROPHY dam status and her points must be earned by more than one individual offspring.

To qualify for SOE status, a show must have 20 entries with a minimum of 5 breeders exhibiting at the previous year.

They must maintain at least 20 entries with a minimum of 5 breeders showing to keep SOE status.

The National Show must have been a SOE show for 2 years, with the National Show having a minimum of 20 entries shown. Official SOE point tabulations will be processed by the PAUS Show Committee Chair and verified by the PAUS office at the end of the show season. The Gold Trophy sire and dam distinction will be imprinted on their registration papers.

All animals must be halter broke and leadable to present in the show ring.

All Shorthorns and Polled Shorthorns are also subject to an age inspection if deemed necessary by the ASA and the decision of the examining veterinarian is final. Use of artificial fins on the show animals is not permitted. IMPORTANT: Each of the following classes MAY be broken into multiple classes to accommodate large numbers of

All females 20 months of age on or before the date of the Super Regional show need to have a 60-day pregnancy verification signed by an accredited, non-owner veterinarian at the time the female is processed for the show. Exhibitors may be asked to present said verification upon the request of the Show officials or ASA representatives.
