WHAT IS CLASS DOJO?• Class Dojo is a simple classroom management

app that helps teachers encourage students in class and easily communicate with parents.

• Teachers can sign up for free, and invite parents to join anytime.

• This replaces the more “traditional” color clip chart and take home planner.

• Students have the opportunity to earn points that correspond to our school wide rules and can be awarded points from any staff member on campus. On occasion, points can also be deducted for infraction of school rules.

• Points will be logged and can be redeemed for prizes at both the classroom and school level.

• Each classroom at Sanders will use this system, school-wide.

HOW DO STUDENTS EARN POINTS?

Students can earn points by following our school rules.

Matrix of Rules with Example BehaviorsEach grade level will have a matrix aligned with the rules for students to understandhow to earn points and why points will be deducted. (Sample below is from K.)

DOJO DEDUCTIONS• If a student breaks

one of our SHARP rules, they will have a “Dojo Deduction” and can lose a point.

• Just like in a clip chart system, there will be a series of consequences that follow negative behavior.

PRIZES• Class Dojo will

keep record of the points, and the student can then cash points out for prizes.

• Students can cash in points for prizes on a pre-set menu established by the teacher.

TIPS FOR WORKING TOGETHER EFFECTIVELY

• For convenience, some teachers* may choose to use the messaging feature on ClassDojo for updates or class wide information to be shared.

• In return, we ask that you please be respectful of the teacher’s instructional time and do not message or inquire about points earned or deducted during the school day.

• If you need to contact us regarding a question about a specific behavior, our hours to do so are 7:00-8:20 am and 3:00-5:00 pm. Outside of those hours, you are welcome to contact us by email.

*Determined by grade level teams.
