How to Do a Lot with Very Little: Open source software, tools and templates for webmasters
What is Open Source?Very similar to the concept of Freeware (Free as in freedom, not
free food) except for one important ideological point.A set of criteria that gives freedom to both the programmer and the
user:
1. Free Redistribution 2. Source Code must be included 3. Derived Works 4. Integrity of the Author's Source Code 5. No Discrimination Against Persons or Groups 6. No Discrimination Against Fields of Endeavor 7. Distribution of License 8. License Must Not Be Specific to a Product9. License Must Not Restrict Other Software 10. License Must be Technology-Neutral

Why Open Source?
Open source is a development method for software that harnesses the power of distributed peer review and transparency of process. The promise of open source is better quality, higher reliability, more flexibility, lower cost, and an end to predatory vendor lock-in.
