Glenn Almquist, Senior Vice President, Energy Market, Woodard & Curran. Mr. Almquist has 30 years of experience working on multidisciplinary projects. His expertise ranges from research and development investi-gations to managing assignments for industrial, municipal, and development clients. His most recent experience has focused on energy projects and serving as principal-in-charge of land development and commercial/indus-trial permitting projects, often involving preparation of air permit applications for a variety of minor and major sources of air pollutants, including air toxics sources. He has managed projects requiring both state and federal permits or approvals requiring air quality, water quality, wetlands, visual, and soil impact assessments, often ad-dressing pollutant impacts to aquatic and terrestrial flora, fauna, and human health.

Bob Bibbo. Vice President, Normandeau Associates. Bob’s experiences are heavily weighted to industrial and energy environmental markets. He has led and successfully managed consulting and permitting groups focused on the siting and permitting of new and modified facilities in over 30 states. He has a deep understanding of the regulatory drivers and other market factors creating opportunities for diversification and growth. He currently serves on the Boards of the Connecticut Power and Energy Society and Applied Science Associates. He is a for-mer Chairman of the Environmental Business Council of New England and a former President and CEO of the ESS Group. He has an MS from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College.

Don DiCristofaro is an air quality meteorologist with over 30 years of experience permitting all types of sources from engines to large power plants. Don is a Certified Consulting Meteorologist as designated by the American Meteorological Society and has both BS and MS degrees in meteorology from Penn State. Don has been permitting engines in demand response programs since 2002. He is President of Blue Sky Environmental LLC, an environmental consulting firm that he founded in 2004 and is also the Vice President of Environmental Affairs for Pinpoint Power, LLC. Today he is representing EnerNOC, a leading demand response provider, as their air quality consultant.

Alex Kragie is the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protec-tion, with a focus on energy issues. Previously, Alex served as Vice President of the Coalition for Green Capi-tal (CGC), a non-profit based in Washington, DC. He also served on the Obama-Biden Transition Team, and worked on the Obama Presidential Campaign in 2008. Alex is a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA.

Chris LaRose, Assistant General Manager and Operations Manager, Norwich Public Utilities. Norwich Pub-lic Utilities has been a public power provider for the City of Norwich, Connecticut since 1904 and a long-time member of the American Public Power Association.

Richard T. Laudenat is the Plant Manager for FirstLight Power Resources, Inc. operations in Connecticut. FirstLight was acquired by GDF Suez in December, 2008. Rich has over 40 years of experience in the power industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master’s degrees in Mechani-cal Engineering and Business Administration and is a registered Professional Engineer. His experience spans fossil, hydro and nuclear generation technology. Rich is a Fellow in the American Society of Mechanical Engi-neers and is a member of the Board of Governors in that organization. The majority of his career was spent with Northeast Utilities in a variety of engineering, project management and operations positions. He has significant experience in simple cycle combustion turbine projects, power plant cycle optimization, oil-fired boiler design and construction, and nuclear power plant design, construction and operations. Rich is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of FirstLight’s hydro operations in Connecticut.

Douglas S. McCracken, Director, Emergency Preparedness, Connecticut Light & Power. A leader in emer-gency preparedness, Doug has been active in the electric utility industry for over 33 years, including 25 years in nuclear power. Starting at Detroit Edison, he then joined Northeast Utilities, with roles in engineering, mainte-nance, and nuclear operations. For five years he oversaw the operation of NU’s high voltage system as Direc-tor of Transmission Operations. Throughout his career he has had extensive involvement in emergency plan-

ning. Following two historic storms in the fall of 2011, he was asked to lead CL&P’s Emergency Preparedness program upgrade and incorporate a series of Best Practices. In little more than a year, his team’s efforts have produced award-winning results. A Mechanical Engineer, Doug is also a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Hartford MBA program. Formerly a licensed Senior Reactor Operator at the Connecticut Yankee nuclear plant, he was also a NERC Certified Transmission Operator and is a registered, professional engineer in Connecticut.

Joey Lee Miranda, Partner, Robinson & Cole, LLP. Joey Lee’s practice focuses on energy, telecommunica-tions, environmental, toxic tort, and utilities matters, including litigation, transactional and regulatory repre-sentation, and counseling. She also has experience in commercial and residential real estate matters and zon-ing appeals. Ms. Miranda regularly appears before state regulatory agencies, including the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, and the Connecticut Siting Council, on utility, telecommunications, and energy-related matters. She also handles administrative appeals of agency decisions to state courts. An important aspect of Ms. Miranda’s practice also involves counseling clients on regulatory compliance matters.

Peter Rothstein, President, New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC). Mr. Rothstein currently leads the New England Clean Energy Foundation (NECEF) and is also NECEC President. He leads NECEC’s and NE-CEF’s widely-recognized regional innovation cluster strategy and initiatives. He has over 20 years of venture, entrepreneurial, executive and deal experience in the cleantech venture and high tech markets. Previously, Mr. Rothstein was part of the Flagship Ventures team, a leading seed and early stage venture capital firm in Cam-bridge Massachusetts. He also founded Allegro Strategy, serving as a consultant, advisor and executive with early-stage cleantech start-ups. Mr. Rothstein has been in early-stage deal or executive roles with a number of cleantech companies, including Mascoma, Planar Energy Devices, Ze-gen, Novomer, Boston-Power, and Mechanology. He is also actively involved in a range of leading cleantech and entrepreneurial organizations, including the National Renewable Energy Lab’s VC Advisory Board, catalyst to MIT Deshpande Center solar and energy storage MIT projects, and a Board member of the Cleantech Open.

W. Richard Smith, Robinson & Cole LLP. Richard Smith is a partner in the firm’s Environmental and Utilities Practice Group. His practice includes environmental and resource management law. He advises a wide variety of business, utility, and municipal clients regarding their environmental compliance and permitting strategies, business risk management issues, resource development projects, and commercial transactions.

Bill Taylor is the Director of Engineering for Honeywell Building Solutions’ Energy and Environmental So-lutions, Americas. In this role, Bill is responsible for integrating technologies, people, processes and tools to develop a broad range of customer solutions for energy efficiency, generation and sustainability. Previously, he has led international engineering teams in the design/manufacturing sector. Bill received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah and his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wash-ington. Bill is a licensed PE and a CEM. He also is the recipient of five US Patents.
