Opening of F&T LaSiSe gGmbH

A weekend with an Open Day and invited guests

The basis for a unique researchlocation was laid in July 2013,marked by the ground-breakingceremony for theForschungs- undTechnologiezentrumLadungssicherung SelmgGmbH (F&T La-SiSefor short), accommoda-ting a training academy,a research institute andan outdoor research labfor road trials for allvehicle classes over anarea of just less than12.5 hectares. A total ofjust over 6.5 millionEuros was invested inthis “load securing flag-ship”. The opening cere-mony took place with300 invited guests onFebruary 28th, 2014after what must be arecord-breaking construction timeof only 7 months.

The opening speaker, NorthRhine-Westphalia’s Minister ofEconomic Affairs Garrelt Duinconfirmed that F&T LaSiSe has“the potential to become thechampion in North Rhine-Westphalia”. In his welcomingspeech, Udo Dolezych, thePresident of the Chamber ofIndustry and Commerce, who fol-lowed this project with great inte-

rest, particularly emphasised the“unparalleled symbiosis ofresearch, development, practice

and qualification”, which is unique and wished

its gates to all interested visitorsfor an Open Day.

at the premises including the testtrack for HGVs and all other com-mercial vehicles, which is equip-ped with state-of-the-art measu-ring technology.

Three modules are available forroad tests: Many various condi-tions for load securing can besimulated in road tests on the“Kreisbahn”, “Hügelstrecke” and“Dynamikplatte” (circular course,hill track and dynamic motionplatform); the data measured inthe process can then be scientifi-cally assessed. With drivingdemonstrations, practical exam-ples and an exhibition on thetopic of load securing, this OpenDay impressively illustrated tothe 4,500 guests which futuretopics F&T LaSiSe is going to bepractically and scientifically invol-ved in.

The Dolezych training company,called BQH GmbH, will be closelycooperating with F&T LaSiSe inthe future. We will be using therooms in the training building,which is situated in the centre ofthe outdoor research laboratory,for our seminars. Therefore, ourparticipants will benefit from themost modern education conditi-ons with the best possible practi-cal training opportunities.
