Government of India has approved setting-up of POSHAN Abhiyaan with a three year budget of ₹ 9046.17 Crore commencing from 2017-18.
Government budgetary support would be 60:40 between Centre and States/UTs, 90:10 for NER and Himalayan States and 100% for UTs without legislature.
₹ 584 crore already released to States/UTs during 2017-18.
Loan of USD 200 million sanctioned by World Bank
for Phase-I.

Prevent and reduce Stunting in children (0- 6 years)
@ 2% per annum
Prevent and reduce under-nutrition (underweight
prevalence) in children (0-6 years) @ 2% per annum
Reduce Low Birth Weight (LBW) @ 2% per
annum
Reduce the prevalence of anemia among young
Children(6-59 months) @ 3% per annum
Reduce the prevalence of anemia among Women
and Adolescent Girls in the age group of 15-49 years
@ 3% per annum
bring down stunting of children in the age group of 0-6 years from 38.4% to 25% by the year 2022
