OPENING SEQUENCE PROPOSAL

SYNOPSIS

• My Opening Sequence is about four male characters dressing up to go out clubbing for the night.

• The opening sequence will show the characters all getting dressed by fitting their ties and buttoning up their blazers.

• They will all be walking around and out of their houses to where they are all going to meet up.

WHAT WILL I AIM TO CAPTURE?

• Despite this being of the comedy genre, I do feel that not making the opening sequence comical or humourous is a good plan as I want to introduce all of the main characters to the audience.

• I will aim to get the titles in synchronisation with the beat of the soundtrack to make it more comfortable for the audience to watch and make it a production that they will enjoy watching.

• I would want to capture the perceived class and status shown by the characters through their surroundings and their costume.

CHARACTERS

• In the Opening Sequence, I am going to include three of my friends as well as myself

• 1) Maxwell Fox

• 2) William Van Horn

• 3) Alberto Verme

• 4) Roop Arora

• All of the characters are 17 years old but will be playing the ages of 20 -21 year olds.

GENRE

• The genre of this film is a comedy

• This may not reflected by the opening sequence as it is intentionally made to not have a humourous beginning to the film.

PROPS

• The only props I will need include:

• 1) A mobile phone

• 2) Four pairs of sunglasses – One for each character

LOCATION

The location will be in two different places:

• 1) East Sheen,

South West London

• 2) The Harrodian School, Barnes,

South West London

SOUND

• I will include three different sound tracks from two different genre’s

• The first two soundtracks are from the Hip Hop / Rap genre and the other is going to be from the Heavy Metal genre.

• Dialogue and diegetic sound will be kept to an absolute minimum with one line of dialogue at the most.

• Non-Diegetic sounds such as the soundtracks will be loud and powerful to really capture the audiences’ attention.

TECHNICAL CONSTRUCTION• I will use the same camera in all scenes to avoid fluctuations in aperture's as well as

continuing with high quality filming.

• The camera I will use is a Sony AVCHD Camcorder

• I will also use a tripod in the filming process to stabilise my filming

• I will use Final Cut Pro X as editing software

TARGET AUDIENCE

• My opening sequence is targeted at the ages between 15 and 40.

• This is because it may be unsuitable for those under 15 if this film was made into a big scale production.

• People over the age of 40 are most likely to not be interested in a film about four twenty year olds going out and having fun.

• Also, the story line may confuse younger children making the understanding of the storyline applicable to fifteen year olds and over.
