Application description OpenMRS is an electronic medical records software which enables design

of a customized medical records system without the need for software

programming or to modify the database structure. The system is based on

a conceptual database structure which is not dependent on the actual types

of medical information required to be collected or on particular data

collection forms and that can therefore be customized for different uses. At

its core is a concept dictionary which stores all diagnosis, tests,

procedures, drugs, which are then used to design custom data entry forms.

OpenMRS has an API that enables interoperability with other applications,

as well as possibility to plug-in additional modules tailored for specific

implementations. Tools for data exporting and reporting are also available.
