2.2 Responsibility of the customer

• Inaddition,theoperatormusttrainpersonnelandinformthemofthe dangersofworkingwiththemachineryatregularintervals.
Moreover,thecustomerisresponsibleforensuringthattheequipmentisalwaysintechnicallyfaultlesscondition.Consequentlythefollowingapplies:
• Aftereveryusage,atleastonceperyear,thedevicemustundergoa visualinspectionbytrainedpersonnel(perDGUVGrundsatz305-002or country-specificdirective).
• Everythreeyears,orintheeventofdoubtsaboutthesafetyorreliability oftheequipment,anadditionalfunctionalandloadtestistobecarried out(perDGUVGrundsatz305-002orcountry-specificdirective).

2.3 Operating personnel
Thefollowingqualificationsarecitedintheoperatingmanualforthevariousactivityareas:
• Trained person Isinformedaboutthetasksassignedtothemandthepossibledangers intheeventofimproperbehaviourthroughcustomertraining.
• Specialist Isanindividualwho,duetotheirspecializedtraining,skills,and experience,aswellasknowledgeoftheapplicablemanufacturer‘s regulationsiscapableofexecutingthetasksassignedtothemand ofrecognizingpossiblehazardsontheirown.
WARNING!Danger of injury due to insufficient training!
Improperhandlingoftheequipmentcanleadtoseriousinjuryormaterialdamage.Thereforeitisimperativethat:
» Particulartasksareonlycarriedoutbythepersonnellistedin theappropriatechapterofthisinstructionmanual.
» Incaseofdoubtcallinspecialistsimmediately.

2.4 Personal protective gear
Wearingpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE)isessentialtominimizetheriskstooperatingpersonnelwhenworkingwiththepowerunits.
Itisessentialtowearthefollowingprotectiveclothingforallwork:
Protective work clothingTight-fittingworkclothingwithtightsleevesandwithoutprojectingpartsshouldbewornforwork.Itisprimarilyusedtoprotectagainstentanglementbymovingequipmentparts.
Safety footwearSafetyfootwearwithsteeltoecapsmustalwaysbewornasprotectionagainstheavyfallingpartsandfromslippingonslipperyground.
Work glovesWorkglovesmustbewornwhenworkingwiththeequipmentforprotectionagainstsharpedgesandglassfragments.
Helmet with face shield Ahelmetwithfaceshieldmustbewornforprotectionagainstflyingorfallingpartsandglassfragments.
Protective gogglesProtectivegogglesmustalsobeworninadditiontothefaceshieldinordertoprotecttheeyesfromslivers.
With certain work the following must also be worn in addition:

Thepermissibleoperatingtemperaturerangeforthepowerunitsliesbetween-20°Cand+55°C.Reliablefunctioningoftheequipmentcannotbeguaranteedoutsidethisrange.
Ensurethataninclinationangleof20°ineverydirectionisnotexceededwhilstthepumpisoperating.Otherwisethereisariskthattheairfilteroftheenginecouldbecontaminatedbyengineoil.

4.2 Brief description
Hydraulicpowerunitsservetheoperationoftheassociatedhydraulicrescuedevices.Theyareavailablewithanelectricalengineandwithacombustionengine.Furthermore,onedifferentiatesbetweenequipmentwithandwithoutintegratedrapiddeploymentreelsandcompactpowerunits.
Withalmostallunits,twodevicescanbeoperatedatthesametime,oronedeviceinturbomode.Onthehosereel,therearetwohoses(availableasapairorasaCOAXhose),one15mandtheother20mlong,thatcanbeunrolledeffortlesslyevenunderpressure.

4.3 Hydraulic supply
HosesTheconnectionofthedevicewiththepowerunitiscarriedoutviahighpressurehoses.Hosesareavailableinlengthsof5m,10m,15mand20m.Asthelengthofthelinesincreasessotoodoestheassociatedpressureloss.Withalinelengthof50metresthispressurelossremainsacceptableandhasnosignificanteffect.
CAUTION!Do not use damaged hoses!
Withdamagedhosesthereisadangerofescapinghydraulicmediumunderpressure,orofthehoseswhippingaround.
Therefore: » Thehosesshouldbesubjectedtoavisualinspection(leak-
tightness,surfacedamagesuchaskinks)aftereveryuseand atleastonceperyear.
» Everythreeyears,orintheeventofdoubtsaboutthesafety orreliability,carryoutanadditionalfunctionalandloadtest(as perDGUVGrundsatz305-002orspecificnationaldirective).
» Replacehosesevery10years!Thedate(codelettersor quarter/year)isspecifiedonthehosebonding.

Inordertostartthedeviceitisnecessarytoactuatetheon/offbutononthetopofthehousing(Fig.1).Thesignallightontheon/offswitchsubsequentlylightsupinwhiteandtheBATTERYPACKstartsautomaticallyinECOmode(idlespeed).Onlyafterpressingthepushbuttonontheconnectedworktooldoesthespeedincreaseautomaticallyandthendecreaseagain.Thissavesenergy(runtimeinECOmodeof5hoursperbattery)andavoidsunnecessarynoise.

Thechargingtimeisbetween1min.and60min.,dependingonhowmuchthebatteryhasdrained(at3.0Ah).Thechargetimeforthe5.0Ahrechargeablebatteryliesbetween1minand90min.Ifthebatteryisfullycharged,theLEDonthechargerswitchesfromredtogreen.
