Operation & Maintenance contracts The responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the electrical system of a wind farm - or specific targeted functions thereof - is transferred to Siemens for a fixed period of time (normally longer than three years). Investment decisions and individual core functions may remain with the asset owner or may be assumed by Siemens. The operational risk is transferred to Siemens and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs, e.g. continuity of service or availability) and/or Service Level Agree- ments (SLAs) are established to guarantee the agreed technical and budget performance. Siemens offers a wide array of opera- tion and maintenance (O&M) services and “care-free packages,” in which we guarantee a defined performance level either for the entire electrical infra- structure of wind farms (including col- lector systems and grid interconnec- tion equipment), or for defined portions of it. We provide these services for both onshore and offshore wind farms interconnected to the grid using con- ventional AC or HVDC technology.
