Operating Instructions cont. 3) Calculating Gallons of Spray Material

- Determine the length of time (in seconds) that it takes to travel the entire distance that you intend to spray. This will be used in the equation below.

- Based on the desired pressure (80 psi recommended) of the spray nozzles you intend to spray with (Right, Left, Center), determine the required gallons per minute each nozzle will require based on the chart below. These values will be used in the equation below.

Nozzle GPM

Pressure (PSI) Right Nozzle Left Nozzle Center Nozzles (Total) Total GPM of all Nozzles 40 0.125 0.125 0.033 0.283

60 0.148 0.148 0.039 0.335 80 0.17 0.17 0.045 0.385

100 0.19 0.19 0.05 0.43

- Using the values determined in the previous steps, determine the gallons of spray material needed using the equation below.

Gallons of Spray Material = (Spray tip GPM X Time (in seconds) to travel distance to be sprayed) 60 seconds

4) To Begin Spraying - Plug the power cord into the power supply. A pigtail is provided to connect either to the Poultry Hawk battery or another 12-volt battery. - To operate the sprayer with your Poultry Hawk remote, plug the sprayer cord (the small cord) into the auxiliary plug (black connector) on the Poultry Hawk and unplug the dump cord (grey connector) - Turn on the valves for the nozzles that you would like to spray with (Right, Left, Center). - Adjust the Return to Tank valve until the desired spray pressure is measured on the gauge. (Recommended 80 psi).
