WORK AREA SAFETY

• Keep your work area clean and well lit.Clutteredbenchesanddarkareasinviteaccidents.

• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,suchasinthepresenceofflammableliquids,gases,ordust.Powertoolscreatesparkswhichmayignitethedustorfumes.

• Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool.Distractionscancauseyoutolosecontrol.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

• Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Nevermodifythepluginanyway.Donotuseanyadaptorplugsinanyearthed(grounded)powertools.Doubleinsulatedtoolsareequippedwithapolarizedplug(onebladeiswiderthantheother).Thisplugwillfitinapolarizedoutletonlyoneway.Iftheplugdoesnotfitfullyintheoutlet,reversetheplug.Ifitstilldoesnotfit,contactaqualifiedelectriciantoinstallapolarizedoutlet.Donotchangethepluginanyway.Doubleinsulationeliminatestheneedforthethreewiregroundedpowercordandgroundedpowersupplysystem.

• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Waterenteringapowertoolwillincreasetheriskofelectricshock.

PERSONAL SAFETY

• Dress properly. Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelry.Keepyourhair,clothingandglovesawayfrommovingparts.Looseclothes,jewelryorlonghaircanbecaughtinmovingparts.Airventsmaycovermovingpartsandshouldbeavoided.

TOOL USE AND CARE

• Secure the workpiece. useclamporotherpracticalwaytoholdtheworkpiecetoastableplatform.Holdingtheworkpiecebyhandoragainstyourbodyisunstableandmayleadtolossofcontrol.

• Do not force the power tool. Thetoolwillperformthejobbetterandsaferatthefeedrateforwhichitisdesigned.forcingthetoolcouldpossiblydamagethetoolandmayresultinpersonalinjury.

• Use the correct power tool for the job. Don’tforcethetoolorattachmenttodoajobforwhichitisnotdesigned.

• Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Anytoolthatcannotbecontrolledwiththeswitchisdangerousandmustberepairedorreplacedbyanauthorizedservicecenter.

• Turn power tool off, and disconnect the plug fromthepowersourceand/orbatterypackfromthepowertoolbeforemakinganyadjustments,changingtheaccessories,orstoringthetools. Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreducetheriskofanaccidentalstartupwhichmaycausepersonalinjury.

• Store idle tool out of reach of children and other inexperienced persons. Itisdangerousinthehandofuntrainedusers.

• Maintain power tools with care. Checkforproperalignmentandbindingofmovingparts,componentbreaks,andanyotherconditionsthatmayaffectthetool’soperation.Aguardoranyotherpartthatisdamagedmustbeproperlyrepairedorreplacedbyanauthorizedservicecentertoavoidriskofpersonalinjury.

• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properlymaintainedcuttingtoolswithsharpcuttingedgesarelesslikelytobindandareeasiertocontrol.

• Feed the workpiece in the correct direction and speed. feedtheworkpieceintoablade,cutter,orabrasivesurfaceagainstthedirectionofthecuttingtool’sdirectionofrotationonly.Incorrectlyfeedingtheworkpieceinthesamedirectionmaycausetheworkpiecetobethrownoutathighspeed.

• Never leave the tool running unattended, turn the power off. Donotleavethetooluntilitcomestoacompletestop.

BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE• Ensure the switch trigger is in the off position before inserting battery pack.

Insertingthebatterypackintopowertoolsthathavetheswitchoninvitesaccidents.

• recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer.Achargerthatissuitableforonetypeofbatterypackmaycreateariskoffirewhenusedwithanotherbatterypack.

• Use battery tools only with specified battery pack.useofanyotherbatterypacksmaycreateariskofinjuryandfire.

• Avoid storing battery pack in a container with other metal objects such as nails, coins, clips, keys, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another.Alwaysprotectthebatteryterminalswhenbatterypackisnotbeingused.Connectingthebatteryterminalstogethermaycauseburnsorafire.

• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery.Avoidcontact.Ifcontactaccidentallyoccurs,flushwithwater.Ifliquidcontactseyes,additionallyseekmedicalhelp.Liquidejectedfromthebatterymaycauseirritationorburns.

• Battery tools do not need to be plugged into an electrical outlet,therefore,theyarealwaysinoperationcondition.Beawareofpossiblehazardswhennotusingyourbatterytoolorwhenchangingaccessories.followingthisrulewillreducetheriskofelectricshock,fireorpersonalinjury.

WArNING:USE OF THIS TOOL CAN GENErATE AND DISBUrSE DUST Or OTHEr AIrBOrNE PArTICLES, INCLUDING WOOD DUST, CrYSTALLINE SILICA DUST AND ASBESTOS. Direct particles away from face and body. Always operate tool in a well-ventilated area and provide for proper dust removal. Use dust collection system wherever possible. Exposure to the dust may cause serious and permanent respiratory or other injury, including silicosis (a serious lung disease), cancer, and death. Avoid breathing the dust, and avoid prolonged contact with the dust. Allowing dust to get into your mouth or eyes, or lay on your skin may promote absorption of harmful material. Always use properly fitting NIOSH/OSHA approved respiratory protection appropriate for dust exposure, and wash exposed areas with soap and water.

SERVICE• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person usingonlyidentical

replacementparts.Thiswillensurethatthesafetyofthepowertoolismaintained.

• Service your power tool periodically. Whencleaningatool,becarefulnottodisassembleanyportionofthetoolsinceinternalwiresmaybemisplacedorpinched.

EXTENSION COrDSGrounded tools require a three wire extension cord.Doubleinsulatedtoolscanuseeitheratwoorthreewireextensioncord.Asthedistancefromthepowersupplyoutletincreases,youmustuseaheaviergaugeextensioncord.usingextensioncordswithinadequatelysizedwirecausesaseriousdropinvoltage,resultinginlossofpowerandpossibletooldamage.Refertothetableshownbelowtodeterminetherequiredminimumwiresize.Thesmallerthegaugenumberofthewire,thegreaterthecapacityofthecord.forexample:a14-gaugecordcancarryahighercurrentthana16-gaugecord.Whenusingmorethanoneextensioncordtomakeupthetotallength,besureeachcordcontainsatleasttheminimumwiresizerequired.Ifyouareusingoneextensioncordformorethanonetool,addthenameplateamperesandusethesumtodeterminetherequiredminimumwiresize.

Guidelines for Using Extension Cords• Ifyouareusinganextensioncordoutdoors,besureitismarkedwiththesuffix“W-A”(“W”inCanada)to

indicatethatitisacceptableforoutdooruse.• Besureyourextensioncordisproperlywiredandingoodelectricalcondition.Alwaysreplaceadamaged

extensioncordorhaveitrepairedbyaqualifiedpersonbeforeusingit.• Protectyourextensioncordsfromsharpobjects,excessiveheat,anddamporwetareas.

WArNING:Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where cutting tools may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator!

• Do not leave the tool running.Operatethetoolonlywhenhand-held.

• Be Aware that this tool is always in an operating condition,becauseitdoesnothavetobepluggedintoanelectricoutlet.

• When operating the tool from an elevated position,beawareofpeopleorthingsbeneathyou.

• Always hold the tool firmly in your hands before switching the tool “ON”. Thereactiontothetorqueofthemotorasitacceleratestofullspeedmaycausethetooltotwist.

• Wear eye and hearing protection. • Do not charge battery pack whentemperatureisbelow50degreesf(10degreesC)orabove104degreesf(40degreesC).Storetoolandbatterypackinalocationwheretemperaturewillnotexceed122degreesf(50degreeC).Thisisimportanttopreventserious damagetothebatterycells.

• Place charger on flat non-flammable surface andawayfromflammablematerialswhenre-chargingthebatterypack.

• To reduce risk of electric shock, unplugchargerfromoutletbeforeattemptinganymaintenanceorcleaning.

• If operating time has become excessively shorter, stopoperatingimmediately.Itmayresultinariskofoverheating,possibleburnsandevenanexplosion.

• Battery leakage may occur underextremeusageortemperatureconditions.Avoidcontactwithskinandeyes.Ifliquidcomesincontactwithyourskin,washimmediatelywithsoapandwater.Ifliquidgetsintoyoureyes,washthemoutwithclearwaterforatleast10minutes,andthenseekmedicalattentionrightaway.

• Do not charge battery pack inside a box or container of any kind. Thebatterymustbeplacedinawellventilatedareaduringcharging.

• Do not allow anything to cover or clog the charger vents.• Do not incinerate the battery pack evenifitisseverelydamagedoriscompletelywornout.

Thebatterypackcanexplodeinafire.

• Disconnect charger from the power source when not in use. Thiswillreducetherisktoelectricshockordamagetothechargerifmetalpiecesshouldfallintotheopening.Italsowillhelppreventdamagetothechargerduringapowersurge.

WArNING: A battery short can cause a large current flow, overheating, possible burns and even a breakdown.

WArNING: 120 volts are present at charging terminals, do not probe with conductive objects. Electric shock or electrocution may result. Do not allow any liquid to get inside charger. Electric shock may result.

WArNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injuries, read and follow all important safety warning and instructions before using this tool.

WArNING: Always be sure that the tool is switched off before insertion or removal of the battery pack.

INSTALLING OR REMOVING THE BATTERY PACK (FIG 2)• To install thebatterypack, slide thebatterypack (1) into the

bottomofthetoolhousing(2)allthewayuntilitlocksinplacewithaclick,as shown infIG2.Lightlypull on thebattery toensureitislockedintoplaceandwillnotaccidentallyfalloutofthetool,causinganinjury.

• Toremovethebatterypack,pullthebatterypackawayfromthetoolwhiledepressingthebatterylockingtab(3).

CHARGING THE BATTERY (FIG 3)

NOTE: AlwaysCheckthatthepowersupplycorrespondstothevoltageontheratingsplate.

• Connectthechargeradaptor(1)andthechargerstand(3).• Plugthechargeradaptor(1)intoa120VoltACpowersource.The

greenlightonthechargerstand(3)willilluminate,indicatingthechargerispowered.

•Slidethebattery(2)allthewayintothechargerstand(3)untilitlocksinplacewithaclick,asshowninfIG3.Theredlightonthechargerstandwill illuminate, indicatingthatthebattery ischarging.

• Theredlightwillgooffafterchargingiscomplete.• Batteriesmaybecomewarmwhilecharging.Thisisnormal.• Ifbatteryishotaftercontinuoususeinthetool,allowittocool

downtoroomtemperaturebeforecharging.Thiswillextendthelifeofyourbatteries.

NOTE:Ittakesapproximately3-5hourstochargeupacompletelydischargedbattery.

WArNING: Always disconnect the battery pack from the tool or place the switch in the locked or off position before any assembly, adjustments or changing accessories.

TRIGGER SWITCH ACTION• Turnthedrillonbydepressingthetriggerswitch(4-fIG1).• Depressingtheswitchfurtherwillproducemorespeedandtorque.• usethereversingswitch(5-fIG1)tochangethedirectionofrotationofthedrill.• Thereversingswitchhasthreepositions:forward,Reverse,andOff(middle).• Alwayschecktherotationbeforebeginningyourwork.

TWO-SPEED GEAR SWITCH (FIG 4)• Slidethespeedgearswitch(A)tochoosebetweenposition1for

highspeedrange(0-1,300RPM)andposition2forlowspeedrange(0-350RPM).

• Thelowspeedrangehasmorepowerandtorque.usethelowspeedrangeforhighpowerandtorqueapplications.

• Thehighspeedrangeisforfastdrillingordrivingapplications.

BATTERY POWER INDICATORYourtoolhasabuilt-inbatterypowerindictor(8-fIG1)rightabovethetriggerswitch.Ithasthreecoloredlights-Green,YellowandRed.Depressthetriggerswitchslightlytocheckthebatterypowerlevel.Whenallthreelightsilluminate,itindicatesthebatteryisatfullpower.Thebatteryisathalffullpowerwhenonlytheyellowandredlightsilluminate.Whentheredlightilluminatesonly,itindicatesthatthebatteryisatlowpowerlevelandrequiresimmediatecharging.

ELECTRIC BRAKEThisdrillisequippedwithanelectricbrake.Likethetorquesettings,anelectricbrakeprovidesyouwithanotherelementofcontrolduringvariousoperations.Ifthetoolconsistentlyfailstoquicklystopaftertriggerswitchrelease,haveaqualifiedservicemanexaminethetool.

youcanquicklychangebitswithnoextratoolsrequired.• To install bits, place the reversing switch in the Off (middle)

position.Rotatethechuckbodycounter-clockwisetoopenthechuck jaws (2) toapointwhere theopening isslightly largerthan thebit sizeyou intend touse. Insert thebit.Tighten thechuckjawsbyrotatingthechuckbodyclockwisetosecurethebitinplace.

NOTE: Alwaysmakesurethatbitsareseatedfirmlybetweenthe chuck jaws. Never attempt to operate a bit that is wobbly,unstable,orbroken.• Toremovebits,placethereversingswitchintheOff(middle)

position. Loosen the chuck jaws by rotating the chuck bodycounter-clockwise.Removethebit.

WArNING:Make sure the drill bit is inserted straight into the chuck jaws. Do not insert the drill bit into the chuck jaws at an angle and tighten. This could cause the drill bit to be thrown from the drill, resulting in possible serious personal injury.

CLUTCH (TORQUE) SETTINGS• Duringscrewdrivingapplications,youcanadjustthemaximumtorquethatthedrillwillproduce.• Thisfeaturecanbeusedtopreventthestrippingandbreakingofscrews,ortosetaseriesofscrewstoa
