Multidisciplinair Oncologisch Consult
DesignKwalitatief onderzoek
CasesTwee Universitaire ziekenhuizen (Nederland/ België)Elf tumor groepen
Datacollectiemethodes
LiteratuurstudieNiet-participerende observatieSemi-gestructureerde interviews (aanvullend)Documentanalyse (beleidsdocumenten, ziekenhuisprotocollen, informatiebrochures)
Resultaten
• Adequate infrastructuur (technisch)
• Digitalisering van administratieve taken
Aandachtspunten
- zeer sterk ‘klinisch georiënteerd’- inspraak ‘patiënt’?- ‘all-in one’ business concept
Complex/ iteratief
Standaard/ sequentieel
Ongestructureerd/ onzekerheid
Gestructureerd/ zekerheid

Empirische data/ bewijsHealth Affairs4/94 Health Care Science & ServicesImpact facor 4,843
• Solution shop versus focused factory model
• Focused-factory model was appropriate for 67 % of cardiac surgical patients
• Implementation of the model• reduced resource use, length-of-stay, costs and variation
• Assigning patients to different care models increases • care value and the predictability of care process
• outcomes
• while preserving (in a lesser clinical footprint) the strengths of the solution shop.
“We conclude that creating a focused-factory model within a solution shop, by applying industrial engineering principles and health information technology tools and changing the model of work, is very effective in both improving quality and reducing costs”
