The xCompress Video Stream Optimizer is a powerful video compression appliance designed for mission-critical surveillance installations. Powered by Seneca xCompress video compression software, this appliance allows optimal file compression compatible with industry-leading VMS. Our revolutionary solution maximizes file transmission and video retention, lowering TCO without sacrificing video quality. xCompress, coupled with the appliance’s purpose-built design provides video file compression of up to 90%*, allowing for longer retention and more efficient transmission of high-resolution cameras.
xCompress works on top of existing camera protocols with video streams from any camera while maintaining video quality. Compressing the streams before sending them to the VMS, reduces the amount of storage needed in the NVR and processing required. In scenarios where a camera is at the edge and requires a cellular connection, using xCompress before transmitting the stream uses an equally reduced amount of bandwidth, resulting in lower costs. The reduction in bandwidth also means that videos that would otherwise be too large to send or take too much time can now be sent over the network, opening new use cases and greater edge performance.
