About Cystic Fibrosis
CF is the most common life-threatening genetic condition in Australia – and there is no cure. CF is a degenerative condition that affects many of the body’s systems, including the lungs and digestion. Children diagnosed with CF live through daily physiotherapy and medications, among other treatments, just to survive.
Improvements in treatment over the last 50 years mean that now most children diagnosed with CF will live to an average age of 38. This is fantastic progress, but has also brought about new health challenges such as CF related diabetes and osteoporosis.
Children and adults with CF and their families face considerable financial, practical and emotional challenges living with this chronic illness.
Cystic Fibrosis Associations make a huge difference to the lives of people living with this disease. You can too! By participating in Pedal for Life you are raising much needed funds that will allow the state offices to continue providing support and assistance to their clients.

Pedal for Life is a 7-day cycling journey through the stunning countryside of Otago – an area rich in New Zealand history.
This cycling adventure gives you time to admire the views, explore the historic buildings and taste the freshest local produce and wines.
Each day is carefully planned and gives participants the freedom to travel at their own pace. Cycle alone and enjoy the remoteness of the countryside or cycle with the group and share the adventure.
The journey weaves along the Otago Central Railroad – which historically linked Dunedin to the Otago gold mining region. You’ll have the chance to visit quaint shops in enchanting villages, and explore rose covered cottages.
You will also help others breathe a little easier simply by taking a ride through New Zealand and straight into the hearts of people living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
