NDVER Customer Success StoryAutomates Greenhouse Gas Reporting

7

COMPANY OVERVIEW:• Leading mining, construction, and

services organization with operations across Australia and Indonesia

RESULTS:• Streamlined the reporting process• Easy access and view of energy figures

on a daily basis • Improved data accuracy, and shortened

cycle time to get the data and provide it to the Australian Government Web site

CHALLENGES:• Companies in Australia are required to

file an annual report with the Australian Government that details the organization’s contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, following the passing of the National Green house and Energy Reporting Act in 2007

ORACLE PROVIDES:• JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Oracle SOA

Suite for Oracle, Oracle BPEL Process Manager, Oracle Business Intelligence Suite, Oracle Financial Analytics Fusion, Oracle WebCenter Suite, Oracle Universal Content Management

• NDVER’s solution was able to pull down data from Thiess’ system, populate a greenhouse ledger, and calculated the amount of carbon emission and energy produced by the organization

NDVER Customer Success StoryActively Strives for Excellence in Sustainability Efforts

8

COMPANY OVERVIEW:• A leading national Australian contractor

with specialized capabilities in engineering, building, rail, water, mining services and telco

RESULTS:• Enabled complete visibility of GHG

tracking with their existing ERP systems• Fully integrated module with JD

Edwards Enterprise One system• Complete confidence in the

accuracy of the data being reported

• Enabled long-term forecasting and planning on emissions reduction

CHALLENGES:• Mandatory requirement for companies

that consume over 500 terajoules of energy per year to collect emissions data and provide detailed information about their emissions

ORACLE PROVIDES: • JD Edwards EnterpriseOne• The GHG Accounting Software worked as

a fully integrated module within Abigroup’s existing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software, enabling the customer to track GHG through their financial systems

North County Transit District Leverages EA&R for Automating GHG Calculation Process

COMPANY OVERVIEW• North County Transit District (NCTD) is the

agency responsible for public transportation in North San Diego County, California.

• NCTD moves more than 12 million passengers annually and provides a family of transit services including: bus system, commuter rail service, paratransit and light rail.

CHALLENGES/OPPORTUNITIES

• NCTD is required to gather and report sustainability metrics such as greenhouse gas generation (GHG), energy generation, etc.

• NCTD was manually gathering the metrics from utility bills and other sources of data. The process of having to collect the various reporting requirements was manual, time consuming, and expensive without having an automated system to generate the metrics automatically.

SOLUTIONOracle Environmental Accounting and Reporting TeamCain is the SI implementing the solution

RESULTS• In order to eliminate manual data

gathering, reporting, and lower the total cost of ownership for this process, NCTD chose to invest in EA&R to automate the GHG emission calculation process since this application is integrated seamlessly with Oracle’s JD Edwards 9.0 Additionally, NCTD can leverage these

metrics/KPIs for reporting their carbon footprint to CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project).
