In  2008  Yahoo  standardized  on  Oracle  

RAC  with  one  RAC  database  spanning  at  least  2,  but  no  more  than  8  nodes,  which  

was  also  the  maximum  size  of  the  cluster.

In  2014,  Postbank  is  sEll  strong  on  Oracle  RAC,  using  commodity  hardware  and  10G.
