Wow! We have basically reached the middle of the camping season already. Unfor-
tunately, the weather has not been the most cooperative so far this year. Well any-
way, your committees are hard at work planning a fun filled Holiday weekend
capped off by our spectacular fireworks display on July 7th. I ask that all members
be courteous to staff and security and if there are any problems, we should be able
to get them solved for you. Please report any maintenance problems to the office
so our crew can be notified. I would also like to thank all the volunteers (you all
know who you are) who have given their time and efforts to ensure that all members
of MCA have fun activities for the camping season. The Liaisons and Chairs of our
committees will brief you as to what is happening in the campground in their arti-
cles. I want to wish everyone a safe and Happy 4th of July weekend and would like
to stress the following: Please sign your guests in and pay your $10.00. It is not
much for what MCA provides and our resources are taxed to the limit as you all are
aware. Be mindful of extinguishing your campfire as you retire for the evening or
leave the campground. Turn down or turn off air conditioning when not used to con-
serve the electric which you pay for. Please be aware of your facilities and comfort
stations, and make sure that nobody is damaging what you have paid for. Report
any suspicious activity to security. Please remember that we have a lot of children
in our campground and “Do Not” exceed the speed limit of 10 mph. Last but not
least, HAVE A GOOD TIME!
Okay, now that I have said all the things I am supposed to say, I would like to now
thank the membership of MCA whom I have had the privilege of serving as a mem-
ber of the BOD since 2006, and to my fellow BOD members over the years who had
faith in me to allow me to be the Secretary, the Vice President and your President
for the last two years as well as being on a bunch of committees. I will be retiring
from the BOD and not seeking reelection to my section.

After 16 years of volunteering and 12 years on the board, I would like to enjoy MCA
as a member. Please support your current BOD and the new members who will be
taking their seats in September to carry on the work that has begun to revitalize
MCA.
Thank you all so much for your support over these years!

Welcome to 4th of July Weekend at MCA!
As usual for this issue, warnings will be plentiful. We have the highest number of
people in camp, the highest number of incidents and the most damage of the year
during this weekend. We also have some amazing memory making moments!
Cookouts, games, laughter, s'mores and hot dogs over the fire. All being wonderful
and full of fun. Please take advantage of the festivities this weekend: The Parade,
our Youth Fun Fair, the Fireworks and Dance. Volunteers are taking time out of their
family weekend to give you some extra fun for the weekend. Your participation in
the committee events this weekend goes a very long way to helping them provide
activities and improvements.
The Board continues to work toward improving the campground, we are working dili-
gently on the need for a new well. We have not finalized how that will be funded,
but please prepare yourself in the event an additional assessment may be needed.
The well is an imperative project for us over the next few months.
As always, hope you have an amazing weekend in our campground. If you have any
questions or need any help with anything, please feel free to reach out to me. You
can always leave a message with Michele who knows how to hunt me down (she’s
rather good at it, too)!
REMINDERS:
• You are responsible for your guests’, please make sure they are aware of
the rules.
• There is NO excessive water usage permitted, no washing of trailers, cars,
golf carts, etc.
Be aware of the rules of driving your golf carts and/or golf course
Maintenance vehicles in camp.
Make yourself aware of the garbage, trash dumpsters and roll-offs. There is
instruction in this newsletter as to what you can throw away and in which
container. WE ARE MONITORING and you will be called to correct your
action AND receive a fine.
Please be aware of the fireworks laws even though the laws have changed,
the permission within the campground has not changed. The Board has not
granted permission for the use of the consumer grade fireworks.
• SAFETY first, remind your children and guests to be extremely cautious,
there are many guests and others driving in camp. The roads are full, the
pool will be full and we all need to be respectful of each other!

Happy 4th of July to all!
The month of July brings our Campground into full swing and I hope everyone is en-
joying the newly completed projects. We will continue work on our “Wish List” going
into the new year and believe that additional improvements will be possible. Our
Audit committee continues to do a great job on a monthly basis with auditing our
Corporate and Committee Accounts. I truly appreciate each and every one of our
volunteers who spend many hours completing the checks and balances.
During the ”Annual Meeting” on July 8th, we will receive the final Financial State-
ments and report from McGill Power Bell on our performance in Fiscal year 2017.
With this new firm in place, I believe we have taken a step forward and I look for-
ward to receiving a positive report.
As a reminder, if there are any questions or concerns regarding the auditing process
or our Budget preparations, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
With that said, I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July Celebration with all of
our camp family and friends!

F RO M B S E C T I O N Well, here it is 4th of July already and the summer is just going way too fast. I would
like to impress upon you to please follow MCA rules and inform your guests of them.
YOU are ultimately responsible for their actions. It will be very crowded in camp all
weekend and for our fireworks display so please be courteous toward one another,
take your time and enjoy a safe and fun holiday. Our fireworks display is scheduled
for July 7th, and the make up day if needed is July 14th.
This will be my last newsletter article as I have decided not to run for B section rep
this year, I would like to thank those who have supported me these past 9 years. I
have thoroughly enjoyed serving the MCA membership. I will support and help the
new B Section Rep any way I can.
Again, I say thank you.

up to each challenge and
have done a remarkable

F RO M H S E C T I O N FYI - The Pennsylvania vehicle code 75 amendment of 2017 that became effective
January of 2018 has provided a definition in registration of vehicles, vehicles ex-
empt from registration and providing for operation of golf carts.
A golf cart as defined by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylva-
nia approved November 29, 2017 is: A self-propelled motor vehicle designed and
manufactured for the transportation of persons or equipment for sporting, mainte-

Please be aware of the fireworks laws.
Even though the laws have changed,
the permission within the campground has not changed.
The Board has not granted permission for the use of the consumer grade fireworks.
House Bill 542 was signed into law on October 30, 2017. Under the new law, the Fireworks Act of 1939 was re-
pealed and replaced in its entirety. The complete version of the new law can be viewed at: http://www.agriculture.pa.gov/Business_Industry/fireworks/Documents/New%20Fireworks%20Law%20-
%20Effective%20October%2030%202017.pdf
However, the questions and answers below highlight the most noteworthy changes. Q: Which fireworks are Pennsylvania residents now allowed to purchase and use?
Consumers can now purchase and use “Class C” or “consumer-grade” fireworks that include firecrackers,
Roman Candles, bottle rockets, and similar fireworks that contain a maximum of 50 milligrams of explosive
material. The expansion includes those fireworks that were previously only available to out-of-state residents.
“Display fireworks,” which are classified as including salutes that contain more than two grains or
130 milligrams of explosive materials, and professional-grade aerial shells containing more than 60 grams of
Pyrotechnic compositions, are still only to be used by professionals with a permit from the municipality where
the display will take place.
Q: Who can purchase fireworks?
Anyone 18 years of age or older can purchase them.
Q: What are the restrictions on where they can be used?
· *They cannot be ignited or discharged on a public or private property without express permission of the
· property owner.
*They cannot be discharged from or within a motor vehicle or building.
*They cannot be discharged toward a motor vehicle or building.
*They cannot be discharged within 150 feet of an occupied structure.
*They cannot be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or
another drug.
Also, it is recommended that you check with your local municipality,
as you may also be subject to applicable local ordinances.
Q: Where can the fireworks be purchased?
They can be purchased at any licensed facility, including temporary ones. The licenses are issued by the
Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Examples of temporary facilities include tents or other structures
found in parking lots. These temporary structures can sell fireworks between the dates of June 15-July 8,
and December 21-January 2 each year.

Happy 4th of July MCA Campers!
The Social Committee has had many changes over the last couple months. Due to
the lack of volunteers, we had to give up Friday Night Bingo. The Teens have taken
over to keep it going for those who love to play. What does that mean for Social? It
means that we have lost our main funding sources that would pay for Social events
all summer long and into the fall. We are doing our best to raise funds with other
means. We will be having donation dances to keep some of the dances going be-
tween the ones we are paying for. Please remember this when you come to a
dance, the DJ’s or bands will be playing for your donations only, so please be gener-
ous. On July 7, Social will still be doing the parade and the dance that evening. On
July 14, we will have our Luau dance from 9pm til 12am at the A-Frame. Dress up
and join in on our Hawaiian fun! Tickets will be $5.00 per person.
Please come out and join in our activities. If anyone has any time to donate to
Social, please see one of us. Thank you and enjoy your weekend!

To all my fellow campers,
My name is Tim Lipinski of lot G-60. A lot of you may not know my name but I am sure you know of my lot. It was where the
terrible fire within our campground started last year on July 24th. As devastating as it could be to have that happen to my fami-
ly, family members, and fellow campers beside us that I consider family, to see our weekend homes essentially burned to a
scrap heap of metal. My only thought at the time and until this day is that “We thankfully all got to call our insurance compa-
nies and not a funeral home!” If it wasn't for my uncle Tim Murray (G-61) waking up, I am not sure how much more devastation
it would have created, and possibly causing fatalities. His quick actions and calm demeanor saved lives and multiple other
properties. There were several other campers that were sleeping in their trailers that were burned down or next to catch fire. I
know he doesn't want to be called a Hero, but he is, and should be commended for his actions.
From the morning of when this all occurred until now, I cant even begin to articulate into words the gratitude for all that people
have done for not only my family, but everyone else that was affected from the fire. Debbie Calahan from the campground
store brought down water and coffee for the firefighters. She also brought down food for us later in the day. Board members
took time out of their days to make sure that the area was blocked off to give us some private time as we sifted through some
of the rubble. Jon Bluedorn had to work extra hours to coordinate some of the clean up and electricity getting tied back into the
grid. Sierra Siebert has been a rock star along with Alice McLaughlin, Ellie Christopher and Cassie Hellmann from trying to get
us donations to setting up the fundraiser for all of us. A very heartfelt thank you to all that helped organize, volunteer, or do-
nate to the fundraiser. It was an amazing gesture to see how much effort was put in to make such a nice event. It was very
humbling to see the masses of people show their support in our time of need. If I didn't say your name, please don't take it as
an insult, as there were many people that stepped up that I don't even know their names, and we are thankful for your help
just as much as the peoples names that I know.
I know for all of us affected there is still a long road ahead to get our campsites back up to normalcy. With all the compassion
and kindness shown to us by our fellow campers, it keeps us driving forward to get our campsite complete once again.
Soon enough we will get there, because in the end “We are stronger than the storm!”
Forever Grateful,
The Lipinski's G-60
I would like to thank everyone who helped with the fundraiser and I appreciate that the board allowed this to happen. It really
helped all of us that were so devastated by this fire. I am so grateful for everyone’s help and am so thankful there were no
lives harmed or taken. The donations received will help each of us to continue to move forward and help to rebuild our camp
homes. Thanks again to everyone for being so kind and generous!
Bob Butella G-53 / Now A-63
The Rich and Silvius Families of G-54 would like to thank everyone involved for all of the support during the loss of our trailer
and personal belongings. The fundraiser was awesome, thank you to all of the great people that volunteered their time and
effort to make it an amazing success. May God Bless You All.
On behalf of my family and I, I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers after the fire that destroyed our
camp, we truly appreciate everyone one of you. Thank you for everyone that attended the Pig Roast Fundraiser to help those
of us that were affected by the fire. Although we did have insurance, replacing everything that you had originally bought and
accumulated over time, all at once is very costly. The money raised will certainly help to finish making camp our cozy get away,
again.
Also, thank you to everyone that helped organize & volunteered with the Pig Roast. Your generosity really means a lot. We truly
appreciate everyone’s thoughts, prayers, help, donations and for being there for our family. It is awesome to know that when
disaster strikes that we can count on our camp families to have our backs.
Thank you again, the Brink Family
Stronger Than The Storm!
We couldn’t thank everyone enough for all of the support and efforts that have been put into the
fundraiser to help us move forward. We are so very grateful to have so many wonderful people
that we can really call our “Camp Family” So much appreciated!
