SYLLABUSI. GENERAL INTELLIGENCE

The questions will be of 10thStandard and would include both verbal and non-verbal type. Thetest may include questions on analogies, similarities' and differences, space visualization, problemsolving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination observation, relationshipconceft, figure classification, arithmetical number series, verbal and rion-verba1.series & mathematicsof io' standard. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate ~s abilities to dealwith abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, mathematical computation and other analyticalfunctions. .

11. GENERAL AWARENESS

The questions will be of io" standard. Questions will be designed to test the. ability of thecandidate's general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society . Questionswill also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters cif everyday observationand experience in their scientific aspects as maybe expected of a lOthStandarpeducat~d person. Thetest will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining. toSports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Iridian Constitution."and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that, they do not require a: special study of '.any discipline.

This test will include questions on knowledge of Fire Fighting, operational use of Fire FightingEquipments, life savings drills, causes of fire etc. .

The number of candidates to be called for the. measurement of'physical standards test &endurance test on the basis of merit in: the written test shall be in the ratio' of 1:10 to the. number ofvacancies. The physical standards measurement test & enduran~e test are only of ~ualifying nature ...

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES/APPLICANTS

1. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates for the postsreserved for a particular category. No such relaxation would be available for candidatesapplying for unreserved post/vacancies.

2. Upper age limit is relaxable for Ex-servicemen as per existing Govt. rules.

If the candidate does not put "Left hand Thumb Impression" & signature in the application format the appropriate column of the proforma, the application will also be rejected.

New entrants to Government Service, entering on or after 01.01.2004 will be governed by NewPension scheme termed as "Defined Contribution Pension Scheme" and existing provisions ofCCS (Pension Rules), 1972 will not be applicable. .

Application should be accompanied with a fee of Rs. 50/- through Indian Postal Order or BankDraft in the name of Sr. General Manager. Ordnance Factory Chanda - payable at S.B.I.,Bhadrawati. O. F. Chanda Branch. SC/ST. and Ex-Serviceman candidates are not required topay any fee.

Applications on plain paper neatly typed/handwritten in the proforma appended herewithtogether with attested copies of relevant certificates alongwith THREE latest passportsize photographs (NOT MORE THAN THREE MONTHS OLD) duly signed by the candidateon front side of the photograph. One photograph affixed' on the application form in the spaceprovided and also enclose 2 (TWO) loose photographs duly signed on frontside duly taggedwith the application should reach to "The Sr. General Manager, Ordnance Factory,Chanda, Post Office: Chandrapur Ordnance Factory, Distt. Candidates furnishing dubious caste certificate or any other academic certificates are liable to bedisqualified for the ~ost/terminated after appointment. Apart from this other suitable action maybe initiated as per Law of the Land. Hence. candidates are advised not to submit -dubious/boguscerti ficates. .,

The department reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called fot written 'test. If thenumber of applications received for the above posts are on a large scale and it will not beconvenient or possible for this factory to call all eligible candidates for written test, the Sr.General Manager may restrict the number of candidates to be called for written test to areasonable limit on the basis of desirable qualification/higher qualification.

Candidates appearing for written test will travel on their own expenses. However, SC/STcandidates called for written test will be paid traveling allowance of Second Class (IInd Class)Railway/Bus fare as per rules for onward and return journey performed by shortest routeprovided that the distance traveled by Rail/Bus each way exceeds 80 kms. on production ofjourney details as well as Railway Receipt/Bus Tickets. No extra charge, if any, incurred forreserving seat/sleeping berth in the train will however be reimbursed.

Incomplete or applications without attested Xerox copies of testimonials for claimingReservation/Essential Qualification Certificates/Proof of Age/Three Passport size photograph(not more than three months old) duly signed by the candidate on front side of the photograph,Left hand Thumb Impressions and signature in the application form and also those notconforming to the required specification will be rejected summarily and no correspondence inthis regard will be entertained.

12. Applications received after due date even if posted prior to that will not be accepted. OrdnanceFactory Chanda Management in no way will be responsible for any postal delay or failure.

13. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the last date of receipt of application.

14. Ex-serviceman certificates should have been issued by the Competent Authorities. A copy ofDischarge Certificate should also be enclosed.

15. The Ex-Serviceman candidate applying for the post under Ex-Serviceman category should alsohave to give an Undertaking in the Format given below as Appendix - I.

16. Mere submission of application form does not guarantee issue of "Admit Card" for written test..

17. Only selected candidates will be informed for their selection in due course after the selectionprocess and no other correspondence on the subject would be entertained ..

I understand that, if selected on the basis of the recruitment/examination to which thisapplication relates, my appointment will be subject to my producing documentary evidence to thesatisfaction of the Appointing Authority that I have been released/retired/discharged from the ArmedForces and that I am entitled to the benefits admissible to Ex-Servicemen in terms of the Ex-Servicemen (Re-employment in Central Civil Services and Posts), Rules, 1979, as amended from timeto time.
