    A!out OTO

Ordo Templi Orientis is the first of the great Old 0on orders to accept TheBook of the Law, received by -leister #roley in (1+' E2. This boo3 proclaims a4e 0on in human thought, culture and religion. The 0on arises from a single

supreme in5unction6 the La of Thelema, hich is Do what thou wilt.

This La is not to be interpreted as a license to indulge every passing him,but rather as the mandate to discover one7s True Will and accomplish it8 leavingothers to do the same in their on uni/ue ays. 9Every man and every oman isa star.9 The La of Thelema can ultimately be fulfilled only through the individual

efforts of each person. 4evertheless, many orthy aspirants to the &reat Wor3 ofThelema have a genuine need for information, guidance, felloship, or theopportunity to assist their fello aspirants and serve humanity. %uch aspirantsill find elcome in OTO.

The OTO operates local bodies throughout the orld8 most membersparticipate directly in one or more of them. There are three levels of local bodies

ithin the OTO6 #amps, Oases, and Lodges, in order of increasing importanceand services available. :ost local bodies offer classes on magic3, ritual, cabala, and other topics of interest to practicing Thelemites. :any bodies perform theE&nostic :ass on a regular basis. Other common local activities includeperformance of group rituals =for e, publication of anesletter or 5ournal, and cooperative activities ith other local alternative?religious groups. To find a local body near you, see the U% local bodiesorinternational contactslistings.

U% &rand Lodgeis not a Lodge in the above sense, but is instead thegoverning body of the Order in the United %tates. &rand Lodge coordinates and

monitors the operation of local bodies, sets policies, maintains records andfinances, and in general performs administrative and leadership functions. Ourprogram synopsis and mission statementprovide a summary of the purpose andactivities of U% &rand Lodge. :ost members of loer degrees have fe directdealings ith &rand Lodge, as almost all services to members are delivered bythe local bodies.

If you ish to become a member of OTO, many resources are available toassist you in locating and contacting a local body to apply for initiation. %ee themembershippage =and the pages to hich it refers> for details. It should beclearly understood that initiate membership in OTO re/uires a physical

the link between the negative and the positive. 'n its unchangeable one-ness it is scarcel+a numberB but in its propert+ of capabilit+ of addition it ma+ be called the first number ofa numerical series. 0ow& the Nero& & is incapable even of addition& Fust as also is negativeexistence. #ow& then& if ' can neither be multiplied nor divided& is another 2 to beobtained to add to itB in other words& how is the number A to be found? + reflection ofitself. ,or though be incapable of definition& 2 is definable. nd the effect of adefinition is to form an Eidolon& duplicate& or image& of the thing defined. )hus& then& weobtain a duad composed of 2 and its reflection. 0ow also we have the commencement ofa vibration established& for the number 2 vibrates alternatel+ from changelessness todefinition& and back to changelessness again. )hus& then is it the father of all numbers&and a fitting t+pe of the ,ather of all things.
