Ladies’ Night Out – Cooking With DorisMark your calendars for ladies night out “Cooking with Doris” on Thursday, May 4th at 6:30pm in the BCC gym. We will cook an Italian dinner with Doris Brazzale, have a devotional while our meal bakes and then enjoy the yummy dinner we just made together. There is no charge, but donations will be accepted to help defer the cost of the food. Please email Lezlie Mann at [email protected] to let her know that you’ll be attending so we have enough food.
Cherokee DayThe annual “Cherokee Day Food Drive” is Saturday, May 6. Donations of money are preferred as this enables them to ship in bulk and buy specific items when needed. Last year our members donated almost $6,000 to this effort. Cash donations or checks made out to “Cherokee Home For Children” may be given to either Bill & MeRi Allen, Ron & Charlotte Jones, Tommy & Kay Marshall or dropped off at the church office. Also, everyone is encouraged to attend Cherokee Day and enjoy a time of fellowship, a BBQ lunch and a tour of the Cherokee Campus. Transportation will be provided if enough people are interested.

Prayer Needs -Doris Ballard’s most recent CT scan shows that her tumor has reduced 47%. She is very thankful for all the prayers.-Rhonda Green had surgery on Tuesday, April 18 to repair a problem with a previ-ous surgery. She has to keep her leg immobilized for 4-6 weeks.-Bennie Manis is in NT #823 with continued problems with Crohn’s Disease.-Margorie Overgoner continues to deal with heart valve issues which leave her feeling very weak.-Jackson Wilks, grandson of Ed & Becky Wilks, was released on Easter morning.-Aveyanna Broadus, granddaughter of Sabrina McVade, was released from McLane Children’s Hospital and was able to return to school on Thursday, April 20.-Janet Byrom, sister-in-law of Beverly Hillyard, continues to need prayers as she deals with her chemo treatments. -Karter Hinkson, son of Kyle & Kyra Hinkson, grandson of Glen & Susie Sumer-ford, and great-grandson of Glen Sumerford, Sr. and Eddie & Nancy Curotto had surgery on his hand on April 14 at McLane Children’s Hospital.
Thank You-To the family at Belton, Today (April 23) would have been my Dad, Percy Francis, 89th birthday. He now celebrates this day with his Lord and Savior. There was a sudden, unforeseen downturn in his health and then the fog of loss. I was surrounded by family and friends, but deaf, numb and sometimes unresponsive to the outpouring of love, consoling and encouragement that continues to this day. I just want you to know how much every note, every call, every expression has been appreciated far be-yond what my vocabulary will allow. You have truly been the hands, feet and voice of a loving Messiah. The apostle John refers to this delightful behavior,” If you have love for one another, everyone will know you are my followers”.
