T he South Carolina Workers’ Compensation

Commission’s 2010 Medical Services

Provider Manual is now on sale. The 2010 edition

is a complete revision to the fee schedule with

new maximum allowable payments based on

2010 CPT® coding, CMS’s 2010 relative values,

and an updated conversion factor of $50, $30 for

anesthesia. The 2010 edition becomes effective

July 1, 2010, and provides the most up-to-date

information on the billing and payment for medical

services, including the adoption of the National

Correct Coding Initiative and updated requirements

concerning the release of medical information.

The 2010 Manual covers services for physicians

of all specialties, chiropractors, psychologists,

physician assistants, nurse practitioners, clinical

social workers and physical therapists. This edi-

tion provides more detailed procedure descrip-

tions as well as further clarification of payment

policies. It also serves as an excellent reference

for price comparisons with other payers.
