STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING MILESTONES
• Summary of Meetings October 8, 2012; November 20, 2012; and December 18, 2012:
• SSE presented background and issues surrounding Orkney grid leading to the moratorium, including work currently being done.
• OREF presented 17 potential project solutions for review by the committee
• The Steering Group formalised, its remit and members, with three subgroups identified with chairman’s and members consisting of SSE/OIC/OREF and other stakeholders.
• The established subgroups are: Economic Development, Innovation, and Systems Planning – please see complete list of Proformas per subgroup
• Subgroups meet over November and December to clarify membership, and group remits including review of projects and assigning action items.
• First full review and update of 29 total projects was during the December 2012 meeting.
• OREF submitted project management Gantt chart, and draft implementation plan

SUBGROUP’S REMIT
• Monthly reporting to the Orkney Grid Capacity Steering Group
• Ongoing liaison with other sub working groups
• Horizon scanning activity to identify possible solutions
• Act as a clearing house and focal point for relevant projects
• Co-opt other members as necessary
• Engage with relevant stakeholders to select solutions which may be viable on
Orkney
• Promote the implementation of viable solutions
• Participate in development of overall strategy to maximise electricity network
capacity accessible to renewable generators on Orkney
