Creating Project

Definition of project: A project is the basic unit used by Pilot

panorama to manage and maintain all relevant data, including

all test data, map data, base station data and parameter

settings.

Principle for creating a project: There is no special principle for

creating a project. We can adopt a certain relatively

independent area as a project, such as a BSC (MSC) area or a

region (county set), or save calls of different modes as different

projects, such as Markov call and short call.

Importing Neighborhood Information

Adding and Setting MODEM

In the data service test, the mobile phone is used as a

MODEM. After the mobile phone is connected to the computer,

a new MODEM need be added. During the installation, the

mobile phone driver need be installed and the ports of the

MODEM need be set according to the data port of the mobile

phone.

The highest rate provided by the computer and dual-serial-port

card is 115200Kbps, which will probably become the

bottleneck in 1x test. Therefore, it is recommended to use the

USB-to-serial-port converting device, which will make the rate

of the serial port reach 230400Kbps. Then connect the data

port of the mobile phone to this serial port.


Adding and Setting MODEM Select the created MODEM, click “Attribute” and set the maximum port rate to

230400. Thus the setting of the MODEM is completed.


Setting Dialup Network

Create a dialup network. Select the created mobile phone MODEM and set the access number, user name and password.

Double-click the created dialup network, select “Attribute”, select the MODEM used by the dialup network

and click “Configure” to set the maximum rate to 230400.

Note: to ensure that he 1x test can be carried out smoothly, the Modem, the dialup network and the mobile

phone shall have the same baud rate of either 230400 or 115200.


Setting Panorama

Under the software menu, select View→ Data to set the test items to be carried out.








Testing Data Service After the device is connected, click “1x Data” in the dialup window to carry out 1x test.

In the popup window “CDMA Data Test”, select the created dialup network in “Dial”, the

serial port connecting the data port of the mobile phone with the computer (the serial port

connecting the MODEM with the computer) in “Port”, as well as the items to be tested in

“Data Configuration”. Then click “OK”. The software will carry out 1x integrated test.


Testing Data Service During the test, the software will implement Ping, FTP upload/download test and

HTTP download test automatically according to the preset items.

After the test is completed, click “Report”. The test result will be automatically inserted in a Word document in the form of a table.

Note: The same software is used for both foreground test and background analysis.


Data Review

Open the project where the data need be reviewed, open the MAP, click to select the

data to be reviewed and display the DT track. Open the Status window by clicking

Meanwhile, Graph, Message and Temporary windows can be opened selectively.

Select the data review in the review tool bar and click the play button to start the review.


Analysis of Key Radio Specifications

The key specifications include EC/IO, RX, TX, FER and TXADJ. Here EC/IO is taken as an example.

The statistics of key radio specifications can be conducted in the form of graph. Here the statistics of EC/IO is taken as an example.

Key events include: handoff, call drop, which can also be defined by the user. Here call drop is taken as an example.

Data Processing

Delete and Edit operations can be conducted for the drive test data selectively.

The drive test data can be merged: including the merging of DT files of the same project and the merging of DT files of different projects.

Extension of Hardware Dongle

Some types of hardware dongles (blue) have usage time limit and need be extended.

How to extend: Install the hardware dongle and run CUSTOMER.EXE. Click Get ID to get the ID of the hardware dongle and click Config to upgrade.


Setting Geographical Parameters

Setting the Central Meridian: Its value shall be

related to the test area and can be divided by 3.

Setting False Easting (which indicates the deviant

of the starting point of the default Northeast

coordinate in the X direction): The difference

between the south and north hemispheres need be

taken into consideration.

Setting False Northing (which indicates the deviant

of the starting point of the default Northeast

coordinate in the Y direction): The difference

between the south and north hemispheres need be

taken into consideration.
