Its purpose is to prevent the incidence of crime in children and teens living in high-risk sectors. Founded by the Carmelite Sisters of Charity of Vedruna, the center is located in the vicinity of Residencial Alejandrino, in San Juan. Among the services it offers are tutoring and reinforcement of basic skills; psychosocial services; library; snacks; workshops and talks for children and parents; ceramic workshop; painting and crafts workshop; and integration of technology and the arts into the curriculum. Currently, the program supported by Fundación Banco Popular works with children between the ages of 5 and 12 offering a mentoring program, psychosocial support services, art workshops and other recreational activities.

Centro Esperanza provides services to children and families in the community of Loíza and nearby towns.
