Pakistan Girl Guides Association’s Execu-tive Committee & Annual Council Meeting was held on 23rd and 24th No-vember, 2019 respectively at National Headquarters, Islamabad. Delegates from all seven branches of Pakistan Girl Guides Association (AJK, Baluchistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad Capital Terri-tory, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh) attended the meeting. Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, National Commissioner of Pakistan Girl Guides Association chaired the meetings. During the Executive Committee meeting policy decisions regarding Fi-nance, Constitution, Training, Program and International Guiding were made. Annual Training plan for the year 2020
was approved by the Committee. Pro-spects of upcoming All Pakistan Camp were also shared with the members. On 24th November, 2019 Annual Council Meeting of PGGA was held. During the meeting all chapters of PGGA and Na-tional Headquarters presented their an-nual reports. At the end of the meeting Shields and Awards were conferred upon Guides and members showing outstanding perfor-mance by Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, Nation-al Commissioner of Pakistan Girl Guides Association. Earlier, meetings of sub-committees on Finance and constitution were also held on 22nd November, 2019.

Executive Committee & 70th Annual Council Meeting
Senior Guides National Service Camp, Sagri
Pakistan Girl Guides Association National Headquarters organized a National Com-munity Service Camp at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Sagri, Rawalpindi from 22nd to 29th December, 2019. 50 Senior Guides and their lead-ers from all over Pakistan participated in the camp. During the camp an adult literacy center was set up to educate the illiterate women and village women learned to read and write during this period. Income generation skills like food preservation, sewing & cutting, embroi-dery, patch work, knitting, crochet work, tie & dye, baking without oven, beauti-cian, etc. were imparted to the village women so they can earn their living or at least help their families. An ECCCD (Early Childhood Care and Development) Cen-ter was established to facilitate the mothers of infants and small children so they can learn different skills while Sen-
ior Guides taking care & doing activities with their children. A Free Medical Camp was also set up during the Senior Guide National Service Camp. A doctor visited the camp and provided free medicine. First Aid training (facilitated by Rescue 1122) was impart-ed to students and village women. Sessions on Mother and Child Health and Road Safety were organized in collabora-tion with Human Development Founda-tion and Islamabad Traffic Police. Award Ceremony of the camp was orga-nized on 27th December, 2019. Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, National Commissioner PGGA was the Chief Guest in the cere-mony. She appreciated the spirit of ren-dering service exhibited by the Guides during the Service camp and said that Young girls with such enthusiasm can bring a positive change in the society. She also distributed certificates among the participants.

Earthquake Relief Activities Mirpur
16 Days of Activism
The Juliette Low Seminar, an interna-tional leadership development pro-gramme which took place from 14th to 20th November, 2019. For the first time, the JLS had the capacity for 1,000 partic-ipants aged 20 to 30 to develop their leadership at 20 different locations around the world. The theme of the 2019 JLS was “Lead Out Loud”. The event focused on addressing gender barriers to leadership. From Pakistan Girl Guides Association 4
young girls participated in the event. Zunaira Mir from Punjab attended JLS in UK, Sarwat from Sindh went to Thailand, Zara & Sanober from Sindh went to Mal-dives. The participants got the opportunity to meet Guides from around the world in a diverse environment and according to the theme they explored how to actively tackle gender barriers to leadership and bring about positive change.
Pakistan Girl Guides Association National Headquarters organized a session re-garding 16 days of activism against gen-der based violence in collaboration with Human Development Foundation (HDF) on 6th December, 2019. Guides around the world celebrate 16 days of Activism every year. Focus of this year was “harassment of girls and women in the streets”. Safe Streets for girls and women and Laws regarding harassment at workplace were part of the session. Executive Di-rector Human Development Foundation Mr. Saeed-ul-Hassan and Mrs. Uzma
Shahid from Pakistan Girl Guides Associ-ation facilitated the session. At the end participants demanded that “No girl or woman should feel unsafe or experience harassment in the streets; after all, these are our streets too”.
A devastating earthquake hit Mirpur, AJ&K on 24th September, 2019. The earthquake caused 38 causalities, 665 injured and more than 1000 houses/buildings collapsed. To analyze the situation Young leaders of AJK visited Divisional Headquarters Hos-pital after the earthquake. They had
meeting with Director-General Health of AJK. Later, the staff of PGGA National Head-quarters and AJK office visited Mirpur and distributed Relief goods among the victims of earthquake. Kitchen utensils, bedding and medicines were part of the relief packs.
Government of Pakistan under the flag of “kamyab Jawan Program” arranged a six days long exposure visit of China for 100 membered Pakistani youth delega-tion, including students, young profes-sionals and members National Youth Council in supervision of Mr. Raye Tai-moor, Minister Youth Affairs Punjab. The visit was organized in collaboration with All China Youth Federation.
Ms. Farukh Avais Young Leader AJK rep-resented Pakistan Girl Guides Associa-tion. During the visit delegation visited the Beijing city sub-Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, Beijing city sub- Center planning exhibition hall, Tongzhou Grand Canal, Beijing opera, Taiyuan city (capital of the Shanxi prov-ince) and Taiyuan University of Technol-ogy.

Ms. Hanifa Khanum, President Pakistan Girl Guides Association AJK had a meeting with Additional Chief Secretary AJK Mr. Farhat Ali Mir in September, 2019. The Secretary called the meeting to resolve the Issues of Guiding in AJK.
DPI colleges, DPI schools, Divisional di-rectress Schools and Secretaries of other departments were also present in the meeting. A brief presentation about Guide activities was also part of the meeting.
A Seminar on International Human Rights Day was organized by NCIH, HR Islamabad and Scholars foundation AJK. Violation of human rights in Indian occu-

Pakistan Girl Guides Association AJK or-ganized a hike and cookout program for Senior Guides of Model Science College
on 21st September, 2019. 21 Senior Guides participated. During the activity Guides learnt to cook with limited re-
sources and without proper utensils. Different games and Guide Songs were part of the activity.
International Volunteers Day, AJK
International volunteer day was cele-brated at Guide house Muzaffarabad on 5th December, 2019. 30 Girl Guides par-
ticipated. Guides were briefed about the importance of volunteerism for the betterment of a society and how volun-

Awareness Campaign regarding Use of Plastic Bags
Fun Camp, Sibi
Pakistan Girl Guides Association, Balu-chistan organized 5 days training for the Guiders of Khuzdar district with the sup-port of Education department and Com-missioner Khuzdar. 35 Teachers partici-pated. Purpose of the training was to start new Guide Companies in the schools of Khuzdar. In the closing ceremony Mr. Muhammad
Jan, Divisional Director Education was the Chief Guest. He along with Assistant Commissioner met the participants and appreciated the Guide program. He as-sured his full support for the promotion of Guiding in the division. Earlier Guide members had a meeting with the District Commissioner Khuzdar to initiate Guiding in the district.
The Guides from Helper Schools Quetta ran a campaign regarding “Say no to plastic” in the area around their school. 40 Guides participated. They motivated shopkeepers not to litter in streets and
use paper & cloth bags. Guides also picked the trash and garbage from their school and cleaned the surrounding area of their school.
Pakistan Girl Guides Association orga-nized a fun camp for Junior Guides in district Sibi from 26th to 27th September, 2019. 40 Junior Guides attended. The purpose of this camp was to provide opportunity to learn in a healthy envi-
ronment. Different informative and in-teresting activities were carried out by using educational method of learning by doing. Junior Guides enjoyed the Guide songs and games as well.
Executive Committee Meeting, Baluchistan
Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan’s Executive Committee Meeting was held at Quetta Guide House. Begum Hassan Baloch chaired the meeting. 20 members participated. Purpose of the
meeting was to share the policies of PGGA. The procedure of elections and other Agenda items were discussed in detail.
One Day Camp, Gawadar
Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan organized a Day camp for Guides at Gawadar on 21st September, 2019. 40 Guides participated in the camp. The purpose of the camp was to train the Guides to live in limited resources and be prepared for any uncertain situation.
During the camp Guides learnt tent pitching, knotting and gadget making. Confidence and team building activities were also part of the camp. District Edu-cation Officer (Female) visited the camp and appreciated the work done.

Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan organized enrollment ceremonies for the Guides of Government schools of Hazara Town Quetta in the month of
September, 2019. 60 Guides were en-rolled.

Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan has been playing a key role in work-ing with young girls and equipping them to lead a life free from all sorts of dis-criminations and violence. In this regard PGGA Baluchistan organized an event in collaboration with UN Women on 28th
November, 2019 at Guide House Quetta.
Ms. Ayesha Wadood, Executive Member PGGA Baluchistan and Head of Un Wom-en Baluchistan briefed about the factors that contribute to Gender Based Vio-lence and Violence against Women. She also highlighted the national and interna-tional laws and commitments that safe-guard the rights of Girls and Women. 70 Guides attended.
Pakistan Girl Guide Association, Baluchi-stan celebrated International Volunteer Day 2019 with Senior Guides of different colleges of Quetta at Guide House Quetta. The purpose of this day was to raise awareness about volunteerism and how volunteers can bring the positive change in the society. The need of hav-ing a pool of volunteers was highlighted
as they are part of the communities and first respondents in any situation. Begum Hassan Baloch, President PGGA, Baluchistan was paid tribute for her 40 years long volunteer services to strengthen and promote the Girl Guides Association in Baluchistan and the coun-try.
Day Camp, Quetta
Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan organized a Day Camp for Girl Guides at Guide House Quetta on 5th
October, 2019. During the camp Guides learnt tent pitching, knotting, lashing and gadget making. 60 Guides participated.
Medical Camp for Seasonal Migrants
Members of Pakistan Girl Guides Associ-ation Baluchistan visited the slums area of Quetta and identified the basic health problems of the seasonal migrants resid-ing there. As a result, Pakistan Girl Guides Associa-tion Baluchistan in collaboration with Civil Hospital Quetta organized one day medical camp in the area. During the camp 10 Senior Guides assisted the doc-tors.
Doctors did basic checkups of women and children and provided them medi-cine for 2 months. They also raised awareness regarding health & hygiene and washing hands before eating or cooking. 200 women and children bene-fitted. Senior Guides played games with chil-dren and provided them religious infor-mation as well.

7 Days Residential Camp, Quetta
Awareness Session regarding Breast Cancer and Plastic Bags
Pakistan Girl Guide Association Baluchi-stan organized 7 days Residential Camp at Guide House Quetta from 20th to 27th October, 2019. 70 Participants from different districts of Baluchistan e.g. Kalat, Mastung, Sibi, Jafferabad, Loralai, Turbat, Gawadar, Noshki, Khuzdar and Quetta attended the camp. Theme of the camp was “Say no to plastic bags”. Ms. Kulsoom Rasheed was the camp commander. Ms. Shamim Awan and Ms. Nudrat Jabeen facilitated. Mr. Nizam-udin- Mengal, Director M & E was the Chief Guest in the closing cere-mony. He visited the camp and appreci-ated the campers. Promise and law activities, knotting and lashing, gadget making, poster making, cloth bag making, environmental board game, session on MHM, action on body
confidence, disaster risk reduction, first aid and cyber harassment were part of the camp. Guides also participated in hike and cleaned the area of Hanna Urak. Mr. Zahoor Buledi, Finance Minister Ba-luchistan was the Chief Guest in the clos-ing ceremony. Begum Hassan Baloch President PGGA Baluchistan shared the history of Guiding and issues faced by the Association .The Chief Guest appreci-ated the theme of camp and encouraged the Guides to work for the betterment of society. He also announced to enhance the Grant in Aid of PGGA Baluchistan to expand Guiding in all districts of the province. Later, certificates and shields were distributed amongst the partici-pants.
Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan organized an orientation session regarding Guiding at Government Girls High School & College Khuzdar. 200 stu-
dents participated. During the session awareness regarding Breast Cancer and harmful effects of using plastic bags were also discussed in detail.
Session against Use of Plastic Bags, Sibi
Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan organized a session against use of plastic bags at Sibi on 28th September,
2019. 40 Girl Guides participated. Guides were informed about the disadvantages and harmful effect of plastic bags for
environment. Later, Guides made cloth bags to replace plastic bags.
International Day of the Girl
Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan celebrated International Day of the Girl on 5th October, 2019 at Guide House Quetta. The theme of the day was” Girl
Force”. During the event girls were mo-tivated to believe in themselves and make clear path regarding their future and what goals and objective they wants
to achieve. Storytelling, singing, poetry and other activities were carried out to highlight the skills and abilities of the girls. 60 Guides participated.
Fundraising for Kashmiris
Pakistan Girl Guides Association, Balu-chistan in collaboration with Directorate of Colleges organized fundraising events
in different colleges of Quetta for Kash-mir Cause. Guides collected funds for the
migrants of LOC and Earthquake vic-tims. 1000 participated.

UN Women organized one day work-shop on Protection from Sexual Exploita-tion & Abuse (PSEA) Training for Imple-menting Partners on 8th October, 2019
at Quetta. The workshop was about sur-vival of women in male dominating soci-ety and how the other factors are also exploiting dignity of women and chil-
dren. Staff members and young leaders participated.
Consultative Workshop on Women with Disabilities
Un Women organized a workshop on “Women with Disabilities” at Quetta. The purpose of this workshop was to discuss the actual number of persons
with disabilities, their problems and the issues they are facing to survive. Success stories of Disable women were also shared during the workshop. Guide
members also shared their work with Girls and Women with disabilities.
Visit of Geological Department
Considering the importance of STEM for girls and request of Guides, Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchistan orga-
nized a visit to the Geological Depart-ment Quetta. 60 Guides participated. During the visit Guides were briefed
about the geological structure of moun-tains, stones and sand from different countries and Pakistan.
Workshop on MHFA
Pakistan Girl Guides Association Baluchi-stan organized one day workshop on MHFA (Mental Health First Aid). During
the workshop Guides were briefed about symptoms of depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. Different activities high-
lighting the ways to address these is-sues were conducted during the work-shop.
Meeting with Guiders
Pakistan Girl Guides Association GB had a meeting with Guiders of District Hunza and Ghizer on 3rd and 5th September, 2019. Guide activities in the districts,

Pakistan Girl Guides Association ICT or-ganized an educational visit of Mar-ghazar Zoo for Junior Guides in October, 2019. Visiting the zoo helped the Guides to understand the importance of taking care of environment. As the Guides walked around the zoo they learnt a
unique story about each animal. 172 Guides from Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-6/2, Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2, Islamabad Model College for Girls, G-10/4 and Islamabad Model School, F-6/1 participated.

event “BOL K LAB AZAD HAIN TERAY”
organized by Pakistan Collation of Edu-
cation" at PAFSOM Arena, Islamabad.
The youth-based and youth-led art
event highlighted issues like girls’ educa-
tion, inclusivity and women’s empower-
ment using visual and performing art.
The theme of paintings was “Barriers to
Girls’ Education”. From total 150
paintings, 110 were submitted by the
Guides of ICT. Federal Parliamentary
Secretary for Federal Education and Pro-
fessional Training Ms. Wajiha Akram was
the Chief Guest. The first three positions
were achieved by the Guides. Adina Saj-
jad Young leader won 1st position and
Rs.10000 cash prize, Nabeeha Zahid Girl
Guide from KRL Model College got the
2nd position and Rs. 7000 cash prize and

Pakistan Girl Guides Association ICT cele-brated the International day of the girl in collaboration with Ministry of Human Rights. The Ministry of Human Rights launched Truck Art Advocacy and Awareness regarding Rights of the Child on 11th October, 2019. Six trucks con-veyed the messages related to the rights of the Girl Child. Renowned Actress Me-hwish Hayat was the good will ambassa-dor for the event. Defense Day Celebrations, KP
The South Asia Initiative to End Vio-
lence against Children (SAIEVAC) is an
inter-governmental apex body of
SAARC working for ending violence
against children in the Region. Pakistan
is playing a leading role in the joint en-
deavors to end violence against chil-
dren in the region. The SAIEVAC has
organized the Asian Children’s Summit
in Bangkok from 25th to 30th November,
Pakistan Girl Guides Association KP cele-
brated Defense day of Pakistan on 6th
September, 2019 at Government Middle
School Gulshan Rehman. Junior Guides
made this day memorable by conducting
different activities and presenting skits
to pay tribute to national martyrs for
their sacrifices to save our homeland.

Session on Mental Health Awareness
PGGA KP organized a Discussion regard-
ing Women Empowerment under the
banner of Parwan-e-Khanum with the
collaboration of nine renowned institu-
tions of Peshawar on 5th December,
2019. The objective of the event was to
unite young females on a single platform
to enhance their entrepreneurial skills,
experience and networking. Mrs. Kazim
Niaz (Chief Secretary) was the Chief
Guest. The famous female leading pro-
fessionals of the KP were invited to dis-
cuss about the challenges they faced in
their practical life and career path. It was
an inspirational discussion for the stu-
dents of the participating schools and
colleges. An MOU was also signed with
the University of Science and Technology
Peshawar for the collaboration regarding
women empowerment.
PGGA KP organized a Seminar regarding
Violence against Women and Interna-
tional Human Rights Day on 9th Decem-

A ceremony to re-launch Guiding in the
private educational institutes was orga-
nized at Agriculture University Faisala-
bad. Begum Parveen Sarwar, Wife of the
Governor Punjab and President of PGGA
Punjab was the Chief Guest. Mrs. Tazeen
Fazal Deputy National Commissioner
and Dr. Nighat Arshad Executive Mem-
ber, along with Trainers, Guiders, Princi-
pals and 500 Girl Guides from district
Faisalabad participated. In her address,
Begum Parveen Sarwar expressed that it
is very important to start Guide Compa-
nies in every Government and Private
school as Guiding polishes the skills of
girls and bring forward their hidden po-

2019. Mrs. Nadeema Zafar Executive

nied her. On this occasion 6 Day camp
was organized. 480 Guides from 43
Schools participated. Guides also dis-
played the stalls of Art & Crafts and pre-
sented the food to the Chief Guest they
cooked outdoor without using proper
utensils. They presented a tableau re-
garding importance of Fist Aid. The Chief
Guest appreciated the efforts of the
Guides and distributed certificates.

with the patients. The purpose of cele-
brating the day in this way was to pro-
mote Guiding in all districts of Hydera-
bad.
For the promotion of Guiding and to mo-
tivate the Girls of Interior Sindh for join-
ing Guiding, non-guides were also includ-
