The Concept of WIN

Built on the backbone communication network:

Switching

Signaling (CCS7)

Intelligent network

Capable of providing various new IN services rapidly:

Easy to create new services by customers themselves

Easy to upgrade or modify IN services according to different

requirements

Service Creation Environment -- SCE

SCE is a computer system based on UNIX platform with graphic user interface.

On SCE, you can: Create new IN services Test and simulate IN services Modify or upgrade IN services

SCE outputs the IN services in binary files, which can be transferred to SMP.

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 10All rights reserved

Service Management Point -- SMP

SMP is a computer system based on UNIX platform, which is for:

service management network management charging management subscriber managementSMAP access management … …

There is a database in SMP.

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 11All rights reserved

Service Management Access Point -- SMAP

SMAP is a PC based on Windows 9x/2000 system, which

is the client of SMP. SMAP accesses the data from SMP database. is the man machine interface of SMP. Most management functions of SMP must be configured and executed on SMAP. has a graphic interface and easy to use.

Service Control Point -- SCP

SCP is a computer system based on UNIX platform, which:

communicates with SSP and IP via CAP storing billing records temporarily controls IN calls controls IN charging executes service logics… …

There is a database in SCP.

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 13All rights reserved

Service Switching Point -- SSP

SSP is a special switching system, which

can trigger IN calls, and then report IN calls to SCP, and after receiving the commands from SCP, SSP will make the connection between the caller and the called. communicates with SCP via INAP or CAP generates billing records after successful IN calls communicates with local switches via CCS7. … …

Sometimes, SSP also has the functions of IP.

Detection Point

DP (Detection Point) is used to trigger IN call and to detect

call-related events during an IN call. The configuration of

DP is to notify "IN service logic instance" that DP is found

so that the IN service logic instance can affect the

subsequent call processing. If DP is not configured, then

SSF/CCF proceeds with the original call processing without

involving SCF.

SSF is Service Switching Function.

CCF is Call Control Function.

SCF is Service Control Function.

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 22All rights reserved

Triggers

Each DP can be configured with one or more triggers.

Trigger Type is used to describe the trigger in message.

Same DP, different trigger will lead the different process.
