August 2013 Vol. 33 No. 4 Orlando Women’s Center Remains Closed after Assets Seized! imagined. Police cars, reporters and at- torneys were all around, and what really stood out were the huge moving trucks parked right in front of the building where so many innocent little baby boys and girls have been killed. Operating tables, file cabinets, suction machines, chairs, T.V.'s, you name it, it was being loaded into the trucks and taken away! Not only that, abortionist Pendergraft was standing near a car where we parked, which gave us the opportunity to really speak to Pendergraft as we walked up to the mill. Paula Risler, who with her fam- ily, has regularly ministered at OWC for over seven years, pleaded with Pender- graft to repent of the shedding of innocent blood and turn his heart to Christ. De- spite Paula's pleading with him, he was smug and looked at both of us saying that he was saved and just fine! He proceed- ed to approach every reporter he could get interviews with. The incident which led to the seizure of assets is the final judgement of $36,737,660.16 handed down to Pender- graft in July of 2011 in the Carol Howard case. Pendergraft has paid little, if any- thing, of the judgment (he claims to have paid $100,000). In Season and OutSummer finally hit Minnesota. I prom-

ised myself that I would not complainabout the heat once the summer weatherdid hit. And I find that I am having toremind myself that our last major snow-storm rolled through Minnesota (andWisconsin) in May.

Those of us who live in this climatetreasure our summer days. Being amongthe shortest of seasons, it's quite naturalfor us to do so. Many have cabins “upnorth” and they make time to be there asoften as possible. Others just find out-door places and activities to enjoy whilethese beautiful days are upon us. Andtraveling for our summer vacations is atthe heart of this time of the year.

Yet, the killing of our unborn brothersand sisters continues regardless of theseason. In fact, the summer months inMinnesota can be the very best time tointervene for the lives of the unborn.Because it is warm out, the women andtheir friends are more likely to have theircar windows down when driving to theabortion facility. They are more likely tocome outside once there or take longer tospeak with someone when arriving atthese terrible places. At this time when intervening for lives

may be optimal, indeed, no matter theseason, we must be there sidewalk coun-seling or in prayer support.

It is important to get away and getrefreshed. I, too, love the outdoors —backpacking, fishing, playing churchleague softball, tending my lawn, garden-ing, and taking walks (usually with a bigdog). But we cannot lose sight of some-thing so crucial as the efforts to save

lives and uphold the sanctity of humanlife even as we take time to refresh andrecharge. We still need your prayers andsupport.

For our Central Florida branch, thistime of year is the more difficult forbeing at abortion facilities because of theheat. Extra care must be taken to keepfrom becoming overheated. Yet, again, the killing goes on and we must be there

to intervene for the lives of the unborn.Pray too for those sidewalk counselingand in prayer support in the extremeheat.

There can be no greater cause thanthat of upholding the dignity and value ofhuman life, made in the image and like-ness of God. And we must do this goodwork of God in season and out.

Unborn Baby Experiences Pain 8 Weeks afterConception, Expert Testifies

“The neural circuitry responsible for the most primitive response to pain, the spinalreflex, is in place by 8 weeks of development. This is the earliest point at which thefetus experiences pain in any capacity. And a fetus responds just as humans at laterstages of development respond; by withdrawing from the painful stimulus.”

This Congressional hearing took place prior to the U.S. House of Representatives pass-ing the “Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” which would ban abortions after20 weeks (with narrow exceptions) in all 50 states. In December of 2011,at the end of the 40 Days for Life TwinCities fall campaign, the dedicated abor-tion unit in the hospital closed for good!We believe God will move again at 40Days for Life Twin Cities’ present loca-tion, Planned Parenthood in St. Paul,MN.Proverbs 24:10-11 says, " If you falter

in a time of trouble, how small is yourstrength! Rescue those being led away todeath; hold back those staggering towardslaughter." We are in troubling timesnow; all you have to do is read a news-paper or turn on the news. Through pray-er and fasting our strength is not small, and in answer to our prayers, we will res-cue those being led away to death. This fall will mark the return of Adopt-

Whether in the middle ofthe night or during the day, many partic-ipants over the years have seen Godmove in their lives in a special way andtheir presence saves lives. Our goal atPro-Life Action Ministries this year is tohave all of the 40 days filled by churchesand organizations, answering the chal-lenge of Proverbs 24 by crying out inprayer for those who have no voice oftheir own. It's back! The world's largest prayermovement focused on ending abortionresumes again in the Twin Cities fromSeptember 25 - November 3.

Since 2007, 40 Days for Life (nation-al/international) has spread from a smallcollege town in Texas to 19 countrieswith more than 2,480 campaigns,550,000 participants, and 15, 000 congre-gations. Seventy-seven abortion workershave quit and 29 abortion facilities haveclosed for good during or right after 40Days for Life campaigns, including theabortion facility in HealthPartners' Re-gions Hospital in St. Paul! The best newsof all is that there have been more than7,400 children whose lives have beensaved from death by abortion!

Your participation on the street inprayer makes a vital difference. You canmake history by saving a child's lifemerely with your presence in prayer andpeaceful vigil to stand in the gap. I knowyou're wondering, “How can I changehistory?” Read the following quote anddecide for yourself:

"This campaign is exactly what thepro-life movement has been waiting for.40 Days for Life will prepare pro-lifeactivists across the country to end abor-tion in our lifetimes. The end is near forlegalized abortion on demand, and 40Days for Life is leading the charge."

— Kristan Hawkins Students for Life of America

These childrenwere retrieved from a dumpster behindthe Robbinsdale abortion center inJanuary 1987 by a pro-lifer who suspect-ed babies were being thrown into thetrash there. As this newsletter was going to press, another baby was saved with the helpof a volunteer sidewalk counselor withPro-Life Action Ministries, making 53lives documented saved so far thisyear! But sometimes we don’t hear untilyears later of a baby saved. In mid-June,we learned of a baby girl saved from theRobbinsdale abortion center 13 years agobecause of the pro-lifers’ signs there. Themother told us she was angered by thesigns at first, but then after thinking aboutit, she decided she couldn’t abort. Now,she told us, she “couldn't be happier."The very next day, a woman told the side-walk counselors outside the Robbinsdaleabortion center that (also because of thesigns) she, too, has a daughter. Her childis now 21 years old and has two childrenof her own! Because of such incidents,we know there are more children savedthan we are aware of and can document atthe time.

* In mid-June, a baby was saved outsidethe abortion center in Duluth. Thewoman was under a great deal of stressfrom financial and personal problems. She and her two companions heard thesidewalk counselors pleading for the lifeof her unborn child, and her friends toldher that maybe it was a sign she should-n’t abort. (In her report, the sidewalkcounselor added, “We had no idea theywere thinking about it since they hadlaughed at us and seemed uninterested.”)The young woman went into the abortionmill anyway, but then came out and thesidewalk counselors were able to speakwith her further. When the sidewalkcounselors offered to help pay her rentand assist with her other needs, one of herfriends said, “Go for it!” and she agreed! The sidewalk counselors ask for contin-ued prayers for this woman as they helpher materially and spiritually.

* In early June, a baby was saved at theAll Women’s abortion center in Alta-monte Springs, Fla. The sidewalk coun-selor offered information and help to thecouple and the man came over and tear-fully explained that he was against theabortion and had been trying to talk hiswife out of it. Finally the woman came

over and began to speak with that side-walk counselor and another sidewalkcounselor (who was back on the sidewalkfor the first time in about five years). Shewas very conflicted and had evenprayed/hoped for a sign and sure enough,

as they drove up to the abortion center, she saw one of the pro-lifers holding asign that said, "Babies are killed here."She thought this could be the sign andshe was definitely wavering. She alsospoke to another pro-life counselor byphone, and then eventually decided to goto the pregnancy help center!

6 Pro-Life Action News August 2013

June Fahrmann was Minnesota’shighest-volume abortionist in 2012,committing 1,111 abortions in that yearalone (more than 10% of the total num-ber of children aborted in the state). This conclusion is based on the follow-ing:

Fahrmann is a family practitioner, killing unborn children at the Robbins-dale Clinic near north Minneapolis.Minnesota law requires each abortionistto report the number of abortions he orshe commits every year. The publicreport does not reveal the names of theabortionists, but “Physician G” commit-ted 1,111 abortions in 2012 and 1,111abortions were committed at the Rob-binsdale Clinic that year with the num-bers matching up almost exactly monthby month. (There seems to be a veryslight discrepancy in the bookkeeping.) Fahrmann began working at the Rob-

binsdale Clinic as a medical assistant in1977 and nine years later, she becamethe director of the abortion practice.(This clinic is also a family practiceclinic and states on its website that itprovides abortions as “part of our fami-ly-centered care”!) Fahrmann begankilling preborn children herself in theearly 1990s while she was attendingmedical school.

Please pray that Fahrmann wouldhave the courage to leave her long-timeassociation with the abortion industryand turn to Christ for healing and recon-ciliation.

Is Your Doctor Involved in Abortions?Does Your Doctor PrescribeAbortifacient Birth Control?

Ask your own doctor if he/she doesabortions or refers for them, or pre-scribes abortifacients such as the Pill,Ortho Evra (the “patch”), Depo-Provera(the “shot”), Nuva-Ring, the “morning-after pill,” implants, or the IUD. Allthese methods (and others) can causevery early abortions by thinning the lin-ing of the uterus so that if breakthroughovulation occurs (which it sometimesdoes) and a new life is conceived, theyoung human being may not be able toattach to the uterine lining and thereforehe or she dies. These methods can alsobe very dangerous, even deadly, to thewoman. If you would like to go to acompletely pro-life physician, we have alist of such doctors. Call (651) 771-1500, ext. 202.

Pray for . . . Listing AbortionistsA hallmark of our ministry has been

confronting the evil of abortion with thelove of Christ. This approach has in-cluded publicly identifying who theabortionists (and pro-abortion leaders)are. The practice of placing the names ofabortionists in this newsletter has atwofold purpose: to ask for your heartfeltprayers for the conversion of those listedand to inform you so that you are notpatients of those committing abortions.

The criteria for placing someone onthe following list is that the individual isdirectly involved in committing abor-tions and that this can be reasonably ver-ified. We have resoundingly condemnedany sort of physical or psychologicalthreats to anyone involved in abortion. Our desire is for the love of God to per-meate the lives of those associated withabortion, that they will turn away fromthe harm they inflict and become follow-ers of Christ as so many before themhave done. Please pray for the followingabortionists:

* We have been helping a young womanwho changed her mind about having anabortion at the St. Paul Planned Parent-hood (PP) several months ago. She hadbeen dropped off by her boyfriend, whostopped on the way out and asked thesidewalk counselor, “What kind of placeis this?” The sidewalk counselor told himit was an abortion center, gave him liter-

ature, and urged him to get his girlfriendout of there. He drove away, but eventu-ally the young woman walked out andtold the sidewalk counselor that herboyfriend had called her while she wasinside PP. This young woman had alsoasked to see her ultrasound (we urgeabortion clients to do this), even thoughPP did not want to show it to her. When

she saw her ultrasound, she realized shecouldn’t abort! The sidewalk counselortook her home and has continued to offerher support (as well as putting her intouch with our client advocate.)

This is common with abortioniststo put their money in different trusts toprotect themselves in situations likePendergraft finds himself in.

Pendergraft will do everything he canto get the OWC abortion mill up and run-ning, again insisting that those assetsaren't his. This is why we must prayand continue to pray that OWC re-mains closed and his other four abor-tuaries are shut down!
