The Property

Osborne House, built around 1900 sits in an attractive, select row of period terrace houses on the western edge of Corbridge, offering a village home with easy access to all the amenities of the village. The property retains a host of charm and character and has been beautifully updated by the present owners to offer bright and spacious accommodation with high quality fixtures and fittings, oak flooring downstairs, along with an abundance of period features, including fireplaces, panelled doors, ceiling roses and decorative cornicing. A mixture of original sash windows to the front and double-glazed windows to the rear provide a combination of period charm and modernity.

The front door opens into an entrance porch with a further half-glazed door leading into the entrance hall with access to the downstairs accommodation and stairs to the first floor. The light and elegant sitting room is to the front of the property and has an attractive sash bay window with working shutters. A cosy focal point is provided by the gas fire, marble mantle and surround with cast iron insert with tiled panels. The kitchen is located to the rear and has an attractive range of floor and wall oak cabinetry, with under cupboard lighting and complementary granite work surfaces. Integral appliances include a Belfast sink, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge and freezer and gas Rangemaster double oven cooker set into an inglenook.

Off the kitchen is the garden room - a perfect space for a dining room or simply to relax. This is a bright and airy extension with attractive feature stained glass window to the side and benefits from a vaulted ceiling with Velux windows. Bi-fold doors lead to the private south facing rear yard. A timber gate to the side gives access to the back lane and a further storage cupboard.

The family bathroom is located on the ground floor and comprises a white suite with built in roll top bath, circular wash-hand basin set on a Neptune vanity unit, heated towel rail and WC. The walls are partially tiled and there is tiling to the floor.

An attractive, period wooden staircase leads from the hall to the half-landing and first floor which is flooded with natural light. The family shower room is on this level and comprises walk-in shower, wash-hand basin set within a marble topped vanity unit, heated towel rail and WC with Amtico floor covering.

The master bedroom to the front of the property has built-in wardrobes to both alcoves and an open fireplace with marble mantle and arched cast insert. The second bedroom has a pretty cast-iron fireplace, built-in wardrobes to the alcoves and window to the rear. A further bedroom sits to the front of the house. The main landing gives access to the loft which spans the whole depth of the property and is fully boarded with lighting.
