No work shall be carriedout on Daywork basis except when ordered in writing by the SuperintendingOfficer.When work is so ordered the Contractor shall be paid Daywork prices plus15% which shall include for the use of all ordinary plant, tools and scaffolding,supervision, establishment charges and profit. Daywork prices shall be taken tomean the actual prime cost to the Contractor of his materials, transport and labourfor the work concerned.The Contractor shall produce for verification to the S.O. vouchers specifyingthe time and materials employed on the work. If required the Contractor shall alsoproduce his receipted bills and wages books in support of his accounts.When special mechanical plant is required for use on Daywork, the S.O.'sapproval must be obtained and the cost to be paid to the Contractor mustbe agreed before commencement of work: Only such plant that the S.O. hasaccepted as special mechanical plant before commencement of work will beconsidered for payment as special plant on Daywork basis.The cost of any materials supplied by the Government for use onDaywork shall not be taken into account when calculating the amount on whichthe 15% addition is based.Only time on work actually done will be allowed. A "Day" is considered tobe normal working day of 8 hours. Fractions of a day will be paid for "pro-rata".Rates for power driven tools are not included in the labour rates but chargesfor hand tools shall be deemed to be included.1APPENDIX 'A' (CONT'D)SCHEDULE OF BASIC PLANT CHARGES FOR USEIN CONNECTION WITH DAYWORKSThe Contract Rates for pl9nt in the Schedule of Dayworks shall apply to all plantwhether belonging to the Contractor or hired by him and shall cover all thecontractors obligations whatsoever in providing and maintaining such plant at theplace of work including operators, all fuel and lubricants, all ancillary equipmentnecessary for efficient operation and use of the plant grid overheads and profits.The Contract Rates for plant shall apply both to plant which is already available atsite and to plant brought to site especially for dayworks but in the latter case theContractor shall be paid his additional cost in transporting such plant to and fromthe site.The daily rates in the Schedule are not intended to establish minimum charges.The rates should be applied to the time during which the plant is actually engagedin daywork. EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIESThe Contractor shall provide the following facilities listed hereunder forthe use of the Superintending Officer (S.0) and / or his staff. Allequipment(s) provided for the facilities shall be new, local products andshall be delivered, tested and installed within a month of the issuance ofthe Letter Of Acceptance. The place of delivery and installation shall be asdirected by the S.O. The facilities provided shall be maintained by theContractor or his appointed agent throughout the contract period until theissuance of the Certificated of Practical Completion. Maintenance shallinclude all necessary monthly servicing according to manufacturersspecification and supply of accessories and consumables.The equipment(s) and facilities shall be in the custody of the Contractor atall times. Upon the issuance of the Certificate Of Practical Completion,the Contractor shall remove all equipment and facilities from its location.If the Contractor fails to provide or maintain any equipment(s) for thefacilities as listed hereunder, the Government shall have the right toprocure the equipment(s) from other sources or maintain it and allexpenses arising shall be borne by the Contractor and an appropriateadjustment shall be made to the Contract Sum.7PART B - DEMOLITION WORKSItemDescriptionUnitQtyRateAmountELEMENT NO. 'I - DEMOLITION WORKSGeneral NotesGenerally the site clearance and demolition works in this Bills of Quantities have not been measured in accordance to the Building SMM and or MyCESSMMUnless otherwise stated all quantities are Fixed QuantitiesIn compliance with the Preliminaries, the Contractor shall be deemed to have visited and examined the Site and to have ascertained the nature, character and extent of the Works, local conditions, accessibility of the Site & locations and extent of the required dump sites.The Contractor is referred to the items of Preliminaries and the Specifications regarding protection, watching and lighting, temporary scaffolding and hoardings and he will be held to have included for these provisions and for taking all necessary safety.Prior to any demolition works, the contractor is responsible in obtaining all necessary approvals, permits from respective regulating agencies, statutority bodies etc, and including making payments, charges and or fees imposed by the respective related agencies.The Contractor shall be held responsible for terminating, disconnecting and sealing off all existing services mains, electricity, water, telephone, etc. and applying for permits and approval and servicing all notices including paying all charges and fees due prior to termination works.Prior to demolition works, the contractor shall carry out utilities mapping where necessary and provide temporally diversions and/or connections for the utilities affected by the demolition and during the construction of the new building.Demolition works shall be held to include for breaking up all structures, debris, into safe handling and transportable sizes and removing them from Site to the Contractor's own dump including paying all dues, royalties etc.Prior to any demolition works the contractor is to submit the method statement for all demolition works for approval of the SO. Sheet8DAYWORKS RATESDaywork rates will only be used as a basis for payment when normal ratesfor supply and fix (as given above) are not applicable. No work shall be carriedout on Daywork basis except when ordered in writing by the SuperintendingOfficer.When work is so ordered the Contractor shall be paid Daywork prices plus15% which shall include for the use of all ordinary plant, tools and scaffolding,supervision, establishment charges and profit. Daywork prices shall be taken tomean the actual prime cost to the Contractor of his materials, transport and labourfor the work concerned.The Contractor shall produce for verification to the S.O. vouchers specifyingthe time and materials employed on the work. Sheet111. EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIESThe Contractor shall provide the following facilities listed hereunder forthe use of the Superintending Officer (S.0) and / or his staff. Allequipment(s) provided for the facilities shall be new, local products andshall be delivered, tested and installed within a month of the issuance ofthe Letter Of Acceptance. The place of delivery and installation shall be asdirected by the S.O. The facilities provided shall be maintained by theContractor or his appointed agent throughout the contract period until theissuance of the Certificated of Practical Completion. Maintenance shallinclude all necessary monthly servicing according to manufacturersspecification and supply of accessories and consumables.The equipment(s) and facilities shall be in the custody of the Contractor atall times. Prior to any demolition works, the contractor is responsible in obtaining all necessary approvals, permits from respective regulating agencies, statutority bodies etc, and including making payments, charges and or fees imposed by the respective related agencies.

The Contractor shall be held responsible for terminating, disconnecting and sealing off all existing services mains, electricity, water, telephone, etc. and applying for permits and approval and servicing all notices including paying all charges and fees due prior to termination works.

Prior to demolition works, the contractor shall carry out utilities mapping where necessary and provide temporally diversions and/or connections for the utilities affected by the demolition and during the construction of the new building.

Demolition works shall be held to include for breaking up all structures, debris, into safe handling and transportable sizes and removing them from Site to the Contractor's own dump including paying all dues, royalties etc.
