Upcoming Broadway Musicals: On Track, Likely & Rumored Please Note: Not only is the itinerary of shows “subject to change,” it is “likely to change!” Shows open and close at the drop of a hat. The list below includes shows that are “on track” to open on Broadway in the 2017-18 season, as well as others that are “likely,” or “rumored” to open in a coming season (maybe

next season, maybe later…only a good crystal ball can tell). Note: shows with wide appeal to young children will be given second priority in scheduling. Exact shows will confirmed much closer to the trip!

13 Going on 30 Jenna wishes to be anywhere but in middle school, so makes an unusual wish on her birthday. Miraculously, her wish comes true and the gawky 13-year-old Jenna wakes up the next day as a successful 30-year-old career woman. But, in mid-life what has happened to her teenage best friend, Matt, who – unbeknownst to her – was in love with Jenna. Based on the 2004 hit romantic comedy film, 13 Going on 30 is a new musical with music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (First Date, 17 Again), which has all the elements of a great musical: comedy, romance an empowering message…and a touch of magic!

17 Again 17 Again follows Mike O’Donnell, a former high school basketball player who regrets a choice he made to leave the most important game of his career to propose to his pregnant girlfriend, Scarlet. Now age 37, the depressed Mike returns to his old high school, where a janitor asks him if he wishes he could be 17 again. Answering "yes," he magically jumps back in time to his former self and gets a second chance to rewrite his life. Based on the popular film, this new Broadway musical by Alan Zachar, Michael Weiner (music & lyrics) and Marco Pennette (book) is rumored to star Darren Criss (How to Succeed…, Hedwig, TV’s Glee), Andy Mientus (Spring Awakening, Les Misérables), and Caissie Levy (Ghost, Hair) and George Wendt (Hairspray, TV’s Cheers).

Archie Archie and the gang have set their sights on Broadway, where balloon-speaking characters based on regular folks (Annie, Charlie Brown, Li’l Abner) tend to fare better than superheroes (Superman, Spider-Man). Adam McKay, who directs this new musical about the

Riverdale gang says, “Archie represents a bygone era of America… and like all bygone eras, there are elements we miss and elements that should be bygone. This will be a musical that deals with both those realities in a bright, colorful and slightly demented way.”

The Band’s Visit An Egyptian Police Band arrives in Israel to play a concert. After a mix-up at the border, they are sent to a remote village in the middle of the desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways. Based on the critically acclaimed screenplay, this new musical with music & lyrics by David Yazbeck (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) “abounds with signs of new and exciting life in the contemporary American musical….with an exquisitely wrought score….The music takes on a transcendent harmonic shimmer that stops the heart.” (The New York Times). John Cariani (Something Rotten, Fiddler on the Roof), Tony Shalhoub (Golden Boy, TV’s Monk) are expected to star.

Beaches Based on the beloved book, this new musical follows two extraordinary friends through 30 years of friendship, laughter and sorrow. Vivacious, outlandish Cee Cee and beautiful, privileged Bertie meet as children and become fast friends. From pen-pals to roommates to romantic rivals, their oil-and-water friendship perseveres through even tragic trials. With a touching vulnerability, Beaches exemplifies the triumph of the human spirit and the bonds of sisterhood. With book and lyrics by Rainer Dart & Thom Thomas and music by David Austin, this is a “snappily paced tale, spiced with spot-on doses of black humor, with insights into female friendships that ring reassuringly true.” (Publishers Weekly)

Beetlejuice Everyone's favorite "ghost with the most, babe" is coming to Broadway! A 1988 comedy/fantasy film, conceived and directed by Tim Burton, Beetlejuice centers on Lydia, a young girl who has recently moved into a new home with her parents. As the house's former inhabitants, a young couple, become ghosts attempting to haunt their former home, they summon a malevolent spirit named Beetlejuice from the Netherworld to scare the family out of the house for good. The musical is rumored to have had a 2016 New York reading starring Christopher Fitzgerald (Waitress, Young Frankenstein). This new musical promised to be a creepy, slightly perverse, grand ol' time!

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas Miss Mona Stangley is the proprietor of the famous and infamous Chicken Ranch – known since the 1850s as the best pleasure palace in all of Texas. Mona is friendly with sheriff Ed Earl Dodd, but finds herself under scrutiny, when crusading television reporter Melvin P. Thorpe focuses his cameras and his righteous indignation on the brothel’s evening activities. In preparation for a revival of the foot-stomping 1978 musical, a recent industry reading was held and featured Kristin Chenoweth (On the 20th Century, Wicked) as

Mona Stangley, Kevin McKidd (TV’s Grey’s Anatomy) as Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd, Tony-winner Jennifer Holliday (The Color Purple, Dreamgirls) as Jewel, Christopher Sieber (Pippin, Matilda) as Melvin P. Thorpe, James Naughton (Chicago, City of Angels) as the Governor, Kerry Butler (Catch Me If You Can, Hairspray) as Doatsey Mae. Rumored to star Megan Hilty (Wicked, 9 to 5, TV’s Smash), this sexy new musical is expected to have many of the favorite songs from the fictional musical in Smash, including “Let Me Be Your Star,” “Second Hand White Baby Grand,” and “They Just Keep Moving the Line.”

Bull Durham This spicy and hilarious new

musical about America’s favorite pastimes – baseball and sex – has taken the “#1 greatest sports movie of all time” (Sports Illustrated) and adapted it for the stage with music & lyrics by Susan Werner and expected to star Broadway veteran and Tony-nominee Will Swenson (110 in the Shade, Hair, Les Misérables) Annie Savoy, self-appointed high priestess and muse of Minor League baseball team the Durham Bulls, has a hard decision to make. Every season, she transforms one lucky player from an “also-ran” to an “all-star” by sharing with them her wisdom, experience and bed. This year, her top picks are Nuke, a hot rod pitcher with “a million dollar arm and a five cent head,” and Crash, a veteran catcher who loves baseball more than it loves him. When Crash turns Annie down, she takes on the hot-blooded Nuke. But what these players don’t know is, love is gonna throw them a curveball.

pop-star focused bio-musicals (re: Beautiful about Carole King, A Night with Janis Joplin), this new musical traces the career of pop star Cher, with three different actresses set to play her at various stages of her life. One actress will play a young Cher through her Sonny & Cher years, while another will play the icon through the Believe tour, with a third to inhabit the star at the current point in her life. The show will incorporate a theatrical conceit that allows all three actresses to talk to one another and perform together. The show will include the pop-divas hits such as “I Got You Babe,” “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves,” “Take Me Home,” “Believe,” and “If I Could Turn Back Time.”

C’mon Get Happy The early 70’s hit TV sitcom The Partridge Family starred Shirley Jones, David Cassidy & Susan Dey and followed a widowed mother and her five children as they embarked on a music career. Award-winning director Jerry Mitchell brings a new musical with a modern-day story about a group of young people in search of themselves. They wind up following a charismatic cult leader who happens to worship all things Partridge. Aaron Tveit (Next to

Normal, Wicked) and Annaleigh Ashford (Kinky Boots, Hair, Wicked) star.

Crazy For You Susan Stroman (The Producers, Show Boat, Contact), who won the first of her five Tony Awards for choreographing the original Broadway production of Crazy for You, will direct and choreograph the revival expected to reach Broadway in 2018. With music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award nominee Ken Ludwig, Crazy for You is based on the 1930 musical Girl Crazy. “Crazy for You is – at its heart – a raucous musical tale about the power art has to bring life to a community and purpose to its people,” Stroman said in a statement. “It’s as resonant today as ever, and I am thrilled at the chance to re-discover this show and introduce a whole new generation to its great comedy, unabashed romance and the most choreographically-inspiring Gershwin music the world has ever known.”

Damn Yankees Faust meets professional baseball in the Broadway sendup of love and the American pastime! The 1956 musical focuses on middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd, who trades his soul to the Devil, also known as Mr. Applegate, for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. As young baseball sensation, “Joe Hardy,” he transforms the hapless Washington Senators into a winning team, only to realize the true worth of the life that he's left behind. The winning score by Adler and Ross includes classic songs such as “[Ya Gotta Have] Heart,” “A Little Brains, A Little Talent,” and “Whatever Lola Wants.” A NYC concert staging starred Cheyenne Jackson (Finian’s Rainbow, All Shook Up), Sean Hayes (Promises, Promises, TV’s Will & Grace),

and Jane Krakowski (She Loves Me, TV’s 30 Rock). However, rumors report that Bryan Cranston (TV’s Breaking Bad) has been linked to the revival. Light, fast-paced and devilishly clever, Damn Yankees is a homerun hit, featuring all-American subject matter and an irreverent sense of humor.

Summer There’s “Hot Stuff” in the works! Get ready for a dose of glittering disco ball nostalgia! This bio-musical about a pop music icon focuses on the life of the undisputed “Queen of Disco,” Donna Summer, who shot to fame during disco’s heyday. In later years, she became embroiled in controversy for allegedly saying Aids was God’s punishment for gay men, a statement she vehemently denied. While a musical about her life may chart such ups and downs, it can principally be expected to engulf audiences in waves of funky feel-good music vibes including disco anthems and other smashes such as “Hot Stuff,” “No More Tears” (her

duet with Barbra Streisand), “Love to Love You Baby,” “Bad Girls,” and “MacArthur Park” – iconic sounds from the dance explosion of the 70s!

Dreamgirls This much-anticipated new revival of the beloved 1981 musical transfers to Broadway after a major success in London. Follow the rise and fall of a young female R&B singing group from Chicago during a revolutionary time in American music history. The trio “The Dreams,” must learn the tough lesson that show business and stardom isn’t always as glamorous as it seems. With music by Henry Krieger and book & lyrics by Tom Eyen, the original Dreamgirls won six Tony-awards and features classic songs “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” “I Am Changing,” and “One Night Only.” The iconic role of Effie, originated by Jennifer Holliday, is expected to be played by another powerhouse singer – Amber Riley (TV’s Glee, The Wiz)!

Escape to Margaritaville More than a musical, it’s a way of life! Imagine a place where the sun is hot, the ocean’s warm, and the drinks are as cold as they are plentiful. Welcome to Margaritaville, the island paradise where city folk get away from it all and the locals get into the kind of trouble you can almost always sweet talk your way out of. Featuring both original songs and most-loved Jimmy Buffett classics, this new musical is the story of a part-time bartender, part-time singer, and full-time charmer named Tully who thinks he’s got life all figured out. Until a beautiful career-minded tourist steals his heart and makes him question everything.

Ever After Based on the 1998 film, Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler's

brilliant new Cinderella musical is no fairy tale! It sets the record straight on the famous fable. It was never about fairy godmothers, talking mice, or magic pumpkins. Her name was Danielle and it was always about her wit, her smarts, her strength, and her good friend. She makes her own dreams come true. Warm and romantic, funny and smart, this is the musical you’ve been waiting for. Christine Ebersole (Grey Gardens, 42nd Street, War Paint), Tony Sheldon (Priscilla Queen of the Dessert) and Charles Shaughnessy (Urinetown, TV’s The Nanny) are expected to star!

First Wives Club In this new musical based on the 1996 hit film, Faith Prince (Annie, Bells Are Ringing) and Carmen Cusack (Bright Star) are expected to star as former college friends who reunite in middle-age to find that they have more in common than their alma mater! Ditched by their respective husbands for younger women, they band together to settle scores with the men who did them wrong. With a new book by Linda Bloodworth Thomason (TV’s Designing Women) and songs – both original and classic – by Motown legends Holland-Dozier-Holland, this is a hilarious and inspiring story about friendship at its strongest… and revenge at its sweetest!

    The Flamingo Kid

Based on the hit 1984 film, this new musical with music by Scott Frankel and book & lyrics by Robert L. Friedman takes place in the summer of 1963 and follows an 18-year-old Brooklynite who leaves his humble roots behind in favor of the sexy and alluring world of The El Flamingo - a private beach club for well-to-do Long Islanders. Torn between his father's blue-collar values and those of his new, cocky mentor, Phil Brody, he finds consolation in Brody's niece, Carla, a girl with radical ideas of her own. He soon learns that there's no shortcut to lasting success, and there's no substitute for family.

Freaky Friday Disney’s Freaky Friday, the new musical based on the novel by Mary Rodgers and the popular Disney films, stars Heidi Blickenstaff (Something Rotten!) and Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening) as a mother-daughter duo who at each other's throats until a magical switcheroo forces them to learn what it's like to live in the other's skin. But, they have only 24 hours to make things right before mom’s big wedding. Based on Mary Rodgers' novel and the two movies of the same name, the world premiere stage adaptation of Disney's Freaky Friday features some of Broadway and television's best creative talent, two extremely strong leads,

and an infectiously energetic ensemble cast. The musical's appeal isn't only limited to the target teenage/millennial crowd. Any fan of contemporary musical theatre is likely to find something to appreciate in this adorable (but not cloyingly so) show.

Frozen Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Queen," Frozen tells the story of a fearless princess who sets off on an epic journey alongside a rugged iceman, his loyal pet reindeer, and a naïve snowman to find her estranged sister, whose icy powers have inadvertently trapped the kingdom in eternal winter. The new stage musical features music and lyrics by the creators of the film score – Kristen Anderson-Lopez (In Transit) and Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon) including the hit “Let It Go,” which won the 2014 Oscar for Best Song.

Gettin’ the Band Back Together Mitch Papadopolous just turned 40. And thanks to the recent financial crisis, he just got fired. An out-of-work investment banker, with no place to go, Mitch heads back to the one place he swore he'd never go back to . . . and moves back in with his Mom . . . in New Jersey. On his first day back in town, he runs into his best friend from high school

who suggests that they "get the band back together." Mitch thinks his buddy is crazy. But when his arch nemesis from high school threatens to foreclose on his house unless he agrees to a re-match of their infamous battle of the bands . . . Mitch realizes he may have no choice. He gets his buddies – the high school math teacher who isn't very good at math, the police officer who dreams about being an actor, an Indian dermatologist, and a 16-year-old Jewish kid who wants to be a rap star – and grabs his guitar to give his dream one more shot.

The Girls When Annie's husband John dies from leukemia at an early age, her close friend Chris, anxious to purchase a comfortable sofa for the visitors' lounge in the hospital where he was treated, hits upon the idea of printing a calendar featuring some of the members of the Knapely branch of the Women's Institute discreetly posing nude while engaged in traditional WI activities, such as baking and knitting, in order to raise funds. Her proposal is initially met with great skepticism, but she eventually convinces ten women to participate in the project with her. They enlist one of the hospital workers, an amateur photographer named Lawrence, to help them with the concept. Gary Barlow and Tim Firth’s musical comedy based on the true story, the film, and the play Calendar Girls, is sure to delight!

Gypsy Though loosely based on the memoirs of famous striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee. this landmark musical focuses mainly Rose, the archetypal show-business mother who raises Lee and her sister June as they travel around America with their vaudeville act. Gypsy is considered by many to be the greatest

American musicals, and the role of Mama Rose is often called the ‘King Lear’ of the musical theatre canon. In a transfer from the London stage, this revival stars Imelda Staunton who, in London, won Best Actress in a Musical Olivier for her work as Rose. With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Arthur Laurents, Gypsy features songs that have become show standards, including “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “Some People,” “Let Me Entertain You,” and of course “Rose’s Turn.”

Half Time (formerly titled Gotta Dance) Follow the incredible true story of ten ordinary seniors with extraordinary dreams who audition to dance at half time for a major basketball team. Only after making the cut do they learn they won’t be dancing tap, salsa or swing—instead, they will bring down the house with a style that is entirely new to them: hip hop. Take the uplifting journey with these dreamers – and the young coaches who inspire them along the way – as they battle self-doubt, stereotypes and even each other for a chance to bust a move at center court in front of 20,000 screaming fans. Together they remind us that in life, when the odds are stacked against you and the challenges seem too great to overcome, it’s not the end of the game—it’s half time. This inspiring new musical proves no generation gap is too wide to cross.

With music by the legendary Marvin Hamlisch and a cast including Stefanie Powers (TV’s Hart to Hart), Andre de Shields (The Full Monty, Ain’t Misbehavin’, The Wiz), Lillias White (Fela!, Chicago, Dreamgirls) & Georgia Engel (The Drowsy Chaperone, Georgette on TV’s Mary Tyler Moore Show), this is a heartwarming and hilarious story of triumph and joy that is sure make you dance in the aisles.

Hazel It's the 1960's, a time of great change for America, but not all of the Baxter family is on board. What George Baxter finds not so funny about his wife joining the work force and his maid taking over his household and his life is, in fact, a laugh riot! Based on the character created by Ted Key and the hit television series, this delightful new musical asks the question: can a simple maid debone a turkey, save a marriage, uncover a matter of national security and lead a conga line? She can if she's Hazel! Klea Blackhurst (Off B’way: Bingo, Radio Gals) starred in the premiere.

Head Over Heels A duke. A mysterious prophecy. Two daughters: one mobbed by suitors, the other...not so much. And all set to the beat 1980s pop. Inspired by Sir Philip Sidney’s 16th-century pastoral romance, Arcadia, this new musical is an Elizabethan love story turned on its head – with a score from the repertoire of The Go-Go’s. Originally fronted by Belinda Carlisle, The Go-Go's were the first and only all-female band that both wrote their own songs and played their own instruments to top the Billboard album charts. Hits included "Our Lips Are Sealed," "We Got the Beat," "How Much More," and "Head Over Heels.” Insiders at a 2014 workshop described the show as a “rollicking, comedic adventure tale, set in the Elizabethan period.”

Josephine The entrancing Josephine Baker was beautiful, ambitious, and the toast of Europe at the height of her fame in the 1920s-30s. Born into poverty in St. Louis, she rose to become an icon of the Jazz Age, captivating Paris audiences as a dancer, singer, actress and the 20th-century’s first international black female

sex symbol. Expected to star Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling recording artist Deborah Cox, this dazzling new musical revolves around Baker’s stint as the star of the Folies-Bergere in Paris from 1939-45, her scandalous affair with Swedish Crown Prince Gustav IV, and her service in the French Resistance during World War II. Romance, intrigue and plenty of excitement fill the stage in this musical about “The most sensational woman anybody ever saw. Or ever will.” – Ernest Hemingway

King Kong Set against the backdrop of bustling NYC in the 1930s, this new musical based on the iconic 1933 film tells the story of the infamous ape and his encounter with aspiring actress Ann Darrow, filmmaker Carl Denham, Museum Director Jack Driscoll and the people of NYC. Premiered in June 2013 in Melbourne, Australia, the musical received great accolades for its many technical triumphs, including an astonishing six-meter tall, 1-ton gorilla puppet. However, the show’s book and score needed work, causing producers and creative team to make changes, which were recently work-shopped featuring Marc Kudisch (Finding Neverland, Hand to God), Robert Creighton (Anything Goes, Chicago), Euan Morton (Cyrano de Bergerac, Taboo), and Lora Lee Gayer (Holiday Inn, Follies) as Ann Darrow.

Magic Mike Written by Tom Kitt (music), Brian Yorkey (lyrics), and Roberto Aguire-Sacasa (book), Magic Mike is a new stage adaptation of Steven Soderbergh's 2012 R-rated comedy film, which starred Channing Tatum in the title role. However, instead of a literal screen-to-stage adaptation, the team has conceived the show as a prequel to the two popular films about male strippers. The musical will chart Mike's origin story from struggling college student Mike Lane to his evolution into hunky stripper “Magic Mike.” A private workshop was held April 2015 featured Derek Klena (Anastasia, Wicked) and Taylor Louderman (Kinky Boots, Bring It On), however rumors have been buzzing that the cast

may include Curt Hansen (Next to Normal, Wicked), Will Swenson (Les Misérables, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) and Chris Jackson (Hamilton, After Midnight).

Mean Girls Tina Fey (book), Jeff Richmond (music) and Nell Benjamin (lyrics) team up to create a rollicking, new musical based on the 2004 film by the same name. When her family moves to the suburbs of Illinois, Cady finally gets to experience public school and gets a quick primer on the cruel, tacit laws of popularity that divide her fellow students into tightly knit cliques. She unwittingly finds herself in the good graces of an elite group of cool students dubbed "the Plastics," but Cady soon realizes how her shallow group of new friends earned this nickname.

My Fair Lady One of the most beloved musicals in the canon, Lerner & Loewe's 1956 classic will open in a new revival directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher and his regular design collaborators Michael Yeargan (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes) and Donald Holder (lighting). That team was responsible for two of the most exquisite musical revivals of recent years, South Pacific and The King and I. Both those shows won Tony Awards for best revival, burnishing Sher's reputation as the pre-eminent interpreter of American musical classics, with a knack for digging deep beneath the surface to find the dramatic heart of the material and characters. Featuring a book and lyrics by Lerner and a score by Loewe, My Fair Lady tells the story of linguistics expert Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle, the cockney flower girl he is determined to transform into a proper, dignified woman. The score includes such well-known songs as “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “On the Street Where You Live,” and “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly.”

Once on this Island A rousing Calypso-flavored tale of one small girl who finds love in a world of prejudice, Once on this Island garnered eight Tony nominations – including Best Musical, Book and Score – when it premiered on Broadway in 1990. Ti Moune, a peasant girl, rescues a wealthy boy, Daniel, from a car crash…and then falls in love with him. Unbeknownst to her, the pompous gods who preside over the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death – the stakes being Ti Moune's life. When she pursues Daniel, who has returned to his people, Ti Moune is shunned because of her lowly status. Her determination and capacity to love, though, is not enough to win Daniel's heart, and Ti Moune pays the ultimate price; but the gods turn Ti Moune into a tree that grows so strong and so tall, it breaks the wall that separates the societies and ultimately unites

them. With music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, Once on this Island proves that a test of love can overcome prejudice and hate.

Pat Benetar Musical (working title) The word on “the great white way,” is that, believe it or not, there’s another pop star bio-musical in the works, which traces the personal and professional lives of rock vocalist Pat Benatar and her husband guitarist Neil Giraldo. Grammy winner Benatar’s hits include “Heartbreaker,” “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” “Love Is a Battlefield” and “We Belong.”

The Preacher’s Wife Follow one woman’s journey to find her voice and strengthen her husband and larger church community during a moment of financial crisis and emotional overwhelm. In a fast-gentrifying Harlem, when a preacher and his wife are at risk of losing their church and their hope, an angel appears and reminds them that a church is not a building, but the people who inhabit it and the love they share. This musical adaptation of the 1996 film with Whitney Houston has a book by Daniel Beaty and score by Tituss Burgess. An industry reading in September 2016 starred Loretta Devine (Dreamgirls, Hair) and Ledisi (Caroline, or Change).

Pretty Woman based on Garry Marshall's 1990 film that starred Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, this new musical directed by Jerry Mitchell features a book by the late Marshall and J.F. Lawton (the film's screenwriter) and a score by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Mitchell, a two-time Tony winner for Best Choreography for Kinky Boots and the 2004 revival of La Cage aux Folles, recently said that the new musical, about a call girl whose life is transformed when a millionaire businessman falls in love with her, is aiming for Broadway in the 2018–2019 season.

The Prom Emma becomes an instant outcast, and a national headline, when her high school cancels the prom rather than let her attend with her girlfriend. Sensing a chance to correct an injustice – and maybe get some good publicity along the way – a group of fading celebrities takes up the cause, and invades Emma's small Indiana town. But their bumbling attempts at social activism make the situation far worse than they – or Emma – could have ever imagined. Cultures clash and the town erupts in chaos. The community's reputation, Emma's future, and the actors' careers all hang in the balance, until a true hero emerges to save the day. Uproarious and ultimately

uplifting, this new musical starring Broadway favorites Brooks Ashmanskas (Shuffle Along, Something Rotten), Beth Leavel (Mamma Mia!, The Drowsey Chaperone), and Christopher Sieber (Pippin, La Cage aux Folles) proves that standing up for yourself – and inspiring others to accept their differences – can make you the star you were always meant to be.

Singin’ in the Rain The revival of the stage adaptation of the famous 1952 MGM film brings Derek Hough (TV’s Dancing with the Stars and Hairspray) to Broadway in the role of silent screen idol Don Lockwood, made iconic by Gene Kelly in the film. In fact, the stage musical’s plot closely adheres to the original film. Set in Hollywood in the waning days of the silent screen era, it focuses on romantic lead Don Lockwood, his sidekick Cosmo Brown, aspiring actress Kathy Selden, and Lockwood's leading lady Lina Lamont, whose less-than-dulcet vocal tones make her an unlikely candidate for stardom in talking pictures. With a book by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, lyrics by Arthur Freed, and music by Nacio Herb Brown, this classic musical includes such hits at “Make ‘em Laugh,” “Good Morning,” and, of course, “Singin’ in the Rain!”

    Soul Train

The longest running (35 years!), first-run, nationally syndicated music program in TV history. Soul Train, created in 1970 by Don Cornelius, predominantly featured performances by R&B, pop, soul, and hip hop artists in addition to funk, jazz, disco and gospel artists – famously introducing the world to generations of new music and a whole new series of dance moves and styles on a weekly basis. This new musical will be a “lyrical narrative,” weaving together Cornelius' personal story with more than 20 classic hit songs from the TV series, including “Proud Mary” (Ike & Tina Turner), “I’ll Be Around” (The Spinners), “Loving You” (Minnie Riperton) and “Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me ” (Gladys Knight & The Pips). Come board the Train for the hippest trip on Broadway!

With an original score from icons of pop and rock – including Steven Tyler, Cindi Lauper, Sara Bareilles, John Legend, David Bowie

and others – the show explodes with energy. Get ready to dive to all-new depths of theatrical innovation at The SpongeBob Musical, where the power of optimism really can save the world!

A compelling score by Richard Maltby, Jr. & David Shire, (Baby, Closer Than Ever) fuses South African, Eastern European, Classical, Jazz and Contemporary music, Sousatzka is an emotional, humorous, exhilarating journey which at the same time deals with some of the most profound social and political issues confronting our lives today…and, is full of hope! Stars Victoria Clark (Cinderella, Sister Act) Montego Glover (It Shoulda Been You, Memphis), and Judy Kaye (Cinderella, Nice Work…).

Top Hat The glamour of Hollywood’s golden age and the glorious, tap-dancing of Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers comes to the stage in this classic dance musical. Featuring music & lyrics by Irving Berlin and based on the 1935 film, this newly-staged musical tells the story of Jerry Travers, the famous American tap dancer, arrives in London to appear in his first West End show. Travers meets the

irresistible Dale Tremont, the girl of his dreams, and follows her across Europe in an attempt to win her heart. Packed full of Irving Berlin's greatest hits, stunning tap, romantic ballroom and a little bit of Busby Berkeley thrown in for good measure, Top Hat is a giddy, glorious celebration of 1930s song and dance, featuring magnificent sets, over 200 costumes and a love story that will set the pulses racing!

Trails With a book by Christy Hall, lyrics by Jordan Mann, and music by Jeff Thomson. The new musical Trails tells the story of the reunion of childhood friends, after a dozen years of silence, and their decision to fulfill a promise made to each other in their youth: to hike the Appalachian Trail together. As they traverse the 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine, powerful memories surface, leaving the men to confront their pasts, themselves, and the haunting secrets that kept them apart for so long. A tale of love and loyalty combined with an enchanting original score, Trails offers a profound exploration of the lengths we’ll go to keep from losing what we cherish the most. The out-of-town tryout cast features Krystina Alabado (American Psycho), Leslie Becker (Bonnie & Clyde), Alexa Green (Wicked), Herndon Lackey (Parade), James Snyder (In Transit), and Donald Webber, Jr. (Hamilton).

Trevor Based on the Oscar-winning 1994 short film by the same name, this new humorously wrought musical features book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis. Set in 1981, the story follows what happens to 13-year-old Trevor, a passionate Diana Ross fan, when his crush on a hunky schoolmate named Pinky Faraday gets discovered. Though rejected Pinky and having to tolerate clueless parents, Trevor proves to be resilient, showing an inspiring inner strength!

The Visitor A poignant and urgent story of Walter, a lost soul who gets a new lease on life with the

arrival of Terek, an undocumented immigrant who challenges Walter's capacity for acceptance, change, and even intimacy in the wake of his wife's passing. In it, Walter connects with Terek over a shared appreciation of music, a bond that slowly builds into a soul-stirring, unexpected friendship. Set in a culturally-divided post-9/11 New York City, Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey’s new musical based on the 2007 Thomas McCarthy film, The Visitor suggests that the ties that bind us – music, passion, love--are far more powerful tools for healing than the things that tear us apart.
