● The goal of the project is to start from the initial idea and to deliver a sustainable product for integrators and end-users

7

Open Source as a Key Success Factor

8

Main aspects (1/2)

● 5 open source software identified at the beginning of the project: ● CHORevolution Eclipse Studio ● CHORevolution Console & Identity Manager (based on Apache Syncope) ● Federation server ● Enactment Engine (based on Apache Brooklyn) ● Synthesis processor, including the eVolution Service Bus

● Discussions about licenses closed at the end of the first year: ● Mainly Apache 2.0 license

9

Main aspects (2/2)

● OW2 coaching for open source: ● International Promotion expertise, as a neutral and recognized OSS association ● Technical platform for integration (OpenStack ow2stack, GitLab, Jira, XWiki, etc.) ● External communication tools (XWiki, Sympa ML, social networks, etc.)

● Important contribution of one partner strongly involved in open source product: ● Main support of Apache Syncope product ● Apache foundation member

● Feedback from industrial potential users during the first half part of the project

10

EC Objectives

11

Mainly a trade off

● EC R&D funding project ● RIA aspect

● Research activities ● Industrialization aspects
