Passion for Leadership Award The award given to the scholar who has shown exemplified leadership. Achievement Laureate The award is given to the scholar who bannered the name of PUP through his/her commendable achievements. Outstanding Scholar of the Year This is the most prestigious award given to the scholar who has shown excellence in academics, achievements and leadership. During the awarding ceremony, there are also other significant awards to be given to the top performing academicians of the university aside from aforementioned awards. It has been part of the monumental tasks of KATAGA to distinguish the TopCollege Scholars and the Top University Scholar. These achievers are chosen by the Office of Scholarship and Financial Assistance based on their academic records.

Target Participants
The search for Outstanding Scholar of the Year Awards (OSYA 2011) targets
more than 500 graduating scholars of Polytechnic University of the Philippines forthis school year 2010- 2011. Aside from this, scholars from all other year levels of PUP will be attending the awarding ceremony on March 3, 2011.
General Mechanics
No entry/nomination fee shall be required for the search. Applicants should be recommended by the Department Head and duly
noted by the College Dean. Each department can send a maximum of 2 nominees for each category. The nominee must be a registered scholar of Office for the Scholarship and
Financial Assistance for at least one semester of S.Y. 2010-2011. The nominee shall have no failing, drop, withdrawn, or incomplete grades. The search is open for 3rd, 4th and 5th year students only. Candidates must
have at least 2 year-residence in PUP Former awardees are no longer qualified to join. However, former
nominees/finalists are still encouraged to join as long as the requirementsare met.
Nominated scholars can apply in only one category.
The search will be composed of PRELIMINARY SCREENING (includesCredentials and Composition Writing), FINAL SCREENING (includesExtemporaneous Speaking, Panel Interview) and OSYA Poll.
After the Preliminary Screening, only the Top 3 in each category will advanceto the Final Screening.
OSYA Poll will start 5 days after the Top 3 in each category are named.Voting scheme will be revealed prior to the start of the OSYA Poll.
The Top 3 finalists in each category are required to attend the OutreachActivity.
Final scores will be calculated as 45% Preliminary Screening + 45% FinalScreening + 10% OSYA Poll.
