Youth Development ProgramsObjective: To assist youth in preparing for their futureentry into the labour market. This could involveproviding work experience, career specific training(certificate or diploma), college/university pre-requisites,life skills, job readiness, or entrepreneurial skills foryouth 15 - 29 years through the provision of a wagesubsidy to employers or training costs.
Student Development ProgramsObjective: To assist students in preparing for theirfuture entry into the labour market. This could involveproviding work experience through the provision of awage subsidy to employers
Workplace Training ProgramObjective: To assist employers to upgrade the skills ofcurrent full-time or part-time employees who are indanger of layoff.
Job Development Wage Subsidy(Individual & Projects)Objective: To assist long-term unemployed or those atrisk of becoming long-term unemployed by providingtraining and/or work experience opportunities thatshould lead to continuing or future employment forindividuals requiring assistance to overcome labourmarket barriers. This could involve employing one ormore individuals in new or vacant positions or projectsdesigned to meet community needs or workexperience for students over 30.
Employment Services ProgramObjective: To deliver employment services to clientsand communities. This could include counseling,placement and referral activities through organizationsin the community.
Delivery AssistanceObjective: To provide assistance to employers &community organizations to assist them in being able toprovide specialized training opportunities, major impactproposals & program delivery activities.
Human Resource Investment Fund(Employment Insurance Bene!ts & Support Measures)Objective: To assist individuals to prepare for, obtain &maintain employment or self-employment. This couldinvolve work experience projects, the purchase oftraining, wage subsidies for employers and/orassistance in launching a business.Measures: To assist organizations in the provision ofemployment services to individuals, and/or toencourage partnerships to support employers,employees and/or employer associations &communities to deal with local human resourcerequirements.
Disability ProgramObjective: To provide assistance a person with adisability utilizing any of the programs noted above.

Garry started as doing security withHSE at $18.00 an hour and is now a “HighAngle Rescue, H2S Supervisor & AirTechnician” with wages doubled from when hestarted 1 year ago. Garry's main objective as aH2S Safety Supervisor is to ensure that workersin hazardous or dangerous areas are providedwith the necessary service and equipmentrequired to maintain a safe work environment.
