Hannah Rachel -

From this brief I wanted to improve my design for web skills and implement them collaborating with a developer. I also wanted to improve my problem solving skills through communication with the client.

From this i have learnt 1. How to design for web, (what is possible/what is not) and work with a web developer. 2. How to create an identity without taking away from the clients work and practice. 3. How to create a Image from type that is still legible and functional. 4. How re -work and construct a brief with a client whilst still keeping it there idea.

The Mark.

- The mark was designed thinking about where and who will be seeing this logo. It doesn’t need to be blown up to the size off a building & it doesn’t need to work at the size of a postage stamp(even though it does). Rather than give a generic style creative logo I decided to use screwed up paper in the vain of show posters & scraps off paper you see floating around at gigs like flyers and set lists etc.

The Typeface

- The typeface used was Akzidenz-Grotesk BQ Extra Condensed.Although this typeface gives of a bold masculine feel, I felt this was just what quiet hannah needed to get her self out there in the industry. It does the LOOK AT ME business for her.

It’s also clean, neat and legible even when manipulated.

The typeface can be used for when the screwed up paper lettering is just not practical, for things like body copy on website’s and stationary etc.

There are also many weights and styles of the typeface so over time other weights can be introduced without leaving the original identity, letting it grow and develop rather than just make an out right change.

The Website.

- The main point of refferance for hannah’s portfolio will be here website.

The site was designed to be clean and showcase here photo’s in the best way possible using thumbnails to entice veiwers and a light box to show them once clicked on.

The screwed up paper typeface was used throughout the site to create visual consistancy.

The site has been designed so that the thumbnails move around according to screen size making it usable across a number of screen sizes. It also leaves space for her ever growing portfolio and can be broken down into sections at a later date if needed.

The Typface 2.

- As well as deciding on a typeface hannah can use for everyday things I also made a custom letter set which can be used within promotional material & even used as stickers that can be placed at venues where she takes photo’s creating a gorilla style advertsing method.

CD Mailers

- When ever Hannah does a shoot she send’s the pictures to her client via CD So to get round the problem of sending stuff in a tattered old envelop I decided to get some nice black CD envelopes and sticker then up with a branded address sticker.

This way clients get there CD and pictures in a safe state and get to keep a shiny Hannah-Rachel piece of merchandise.

Stationary

- Along side the send out pack there is also business cards to hand to prospective clients & letterheads, a invoice sheet & compliments slips.

Spec - Black & white print on sugar paper to give that D.I.Y yet professional feel.

Stickers

- When Hannah is out and about taking photo’s she can stick these sticker in gig venues to use as a gorilla marketing tool.

Strike A Pose Photo Frame©

- When Hannah is out and about at gigs or events, she might want to get her self know within the scene. Using this Strike a pose photo frame Hannah get talk to people at the gig and have a reason for it. I would imagine the conversation would go something like this.

Hannah - “hi, do you mind if i can take a photography of you guys in this frame?’Drunken gig people - “yeeeeeeeahhh lets all get in the frame” “What this for?”Hannah - It for a page on my website/blog where I take pictures of the crowd at gigs.”Drunken gig people - “ ooooh sick can we have the pictures for facebook?”Hannah - “yeah of course just log on to www.hannah-rachel.com”.

Stickers

- Inspired from band stickers at gigs thrown all over the toilet these stickers can be stuck up at gigs or given out to rockers at gigs.

The stickers have been design with provoking slogans on them which suit the targets audience tatses and give a rebelious punk feel.
