Stirling Council provides a purpose built site for

use by Gypsy / Travellers.

Bridgend Park is approximately one mile from

Stirling City centre just off the A84 towards

Callander. It is easily accessed from Junction 10

(Stirling) of the M9, as shown in the map on the

back of this leaflet. The site entrance is clearly

signposted from the road.

PitchesOur site has eighteen pitches in total. Your pitch will include:

• its own hard standing area for parking caravans/trailer homes and motor vehicles;

• a hook up facility to provide electricity; and

• an amenity chalet with a bathroom, kitchen, hot and cold running water, electricity, electric heating and storage shed.

One pitch is adapted for use by people with a physical disability. It is suitable for wheelchair users, and has an amenity chalet with level access, a wet-room shower and grab rails.

Site Facilities:• The site manager is on site every weekday and

on a Saturday morning.

• All mail is delivered to the site manager’s office and distributed to residents on a daily basis.

• Refuse is uplifted weekly and a mechanical sweeper regularly cleans the site.

• There is easy access to local shops, supermarkets, a chemist and open countryside.

• There is a bus stop outside the entrance to the site, with frequent services to Stirling City Centre.

• A Community Room is available for use of residents and visitors.

• There is a play area on the site for children.

• We can help you to enrol children in local schools.

• We can help you register with a local doctor or dentist and access other health services.

How do I get a pitch on the site?

To get a pitch at Bridgend Park you should contact the site manager:

• in person, at the site office;• by telephone on: 01786 449591 / 01786 404040; or• by email: [email protected]

The site manager will advise if there are any available pitches on the site. If there are none available, the site manager will take your contact details and offer you a place on the waiting list. When a suitable pitch becomes available, you will be contacted and offered a pitch at Bridgend Park.

How long can I stay for?There is no time limit to your stay on the site. You can stay for a short or long term basis. Short term stays for up to 10 nights are free of charge.

What rent will I have to pay?If you choose to stay at the site for longer than 10 nights you will pay a weekly rent. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to get help with this cost. If so, we can help you to make a claim for this. If you are staying on the site for longer than 10 nights you will also be asked to sign an occupancy agreement.

Will I have to pay for utilities?Yes. You will need to pay for your own electricitywith a card which can be purchased at any time from the card dispenser located outside the site office. Additional electricity card dispensers are available at other locations in Stirling. Please contact the site manager for more details on this.

Will I have to pay council tax?Yes. You are expected to pay council tax while living on the site. We will advise you how much you have to pay and how the amount is calculated.

Can I keep my pitch if I leave the site to travel?If you wish to leave the site temporarily but want to come back to the same pitch, you should let us know beforehand. You can be away from the pitch for periods of time throughout the year, but this time can-not be for more than 12 weeks in total. A rent payment plan must be agreed for the time you are away from the pitch.
