FESTIVE INSTALLATIONS

Christmas 2016 is well and truly underway, and this year there are some fantastic festiveinstallations across the UK’s best-loved high street retailers. Here are just a few of the Momentum Instore team’s favourites:

As with many Christmas campaigns, this year clothing retailer Ted Baker has centered its festive installations on one North Pole resident – a polar bear, or ‘the North Pole Dancer’. Creating fun and eye-catching installations, the Ted Baker team have displayed their polar bear scratching against a candy cane striped pole, utilising the hashtag #UpToScratch with taglines such as ‘He’s Itching For Christmas’.

JOHN LEWIS

The iconic London department store has followed a traditional route for 2016, choosing tocreate a festive installation based on the classic ballet The Nutcracker. Each window of themock-Tudor building on Great Marlborough and Regent Street depicts a different scene fromthe Christmas ballet, featuring carved wooden ballerinas and toy soldiers. In a surprising move,Liberty has chosen not to display any products in its Christmas installation, instead surroundingfigures from The Nutcracker with gifts wrapped in the iconic Liberty print.

At its flagship Oxford Street store, for 2016 the department store has based its festive installation on its much-loved Christmas advert and its central character ‘Buster the Boxer’. John Lewis has recreated the magic of the TV

advert in its window display, which sees hedgehogs, foxes and badgers cosied up underground with their Christmas gifts while Buster stands above them on the snowy garden lawn. The woodland creatures’

underground den is packed full of products from the John Lewis gift range and the installation ties together the entire festive campaign.

Selfridges’ food hall is renowned as the go-to gift destination for hordes of Christmas shoppers, and its installations are always attention-grabbing and captivating. This year, the Momentum Instore team particularly likes the Vimto gifting stand. The Vimto factory is packed full of Vimto-flavoured delights, from the brand’s classic drink to sweets and gift sets.
