THERMAL PROCESSES
Thermal processes are all Heat Treatment processes which only involve heating of the products to be treated. With these processes we are able to optimise the mechan-ical properties of the prod-ucts. Most of the treatments in this section are hardening treatments which increase the hardness of the core of the product.
THERMOCHEMICAL PROCESSES
Thermochemical processes are Heat Treatments where in addition to heating of the products, there is also a chemical diffusion process. With these treatments we are able to produce a very high hardness at the surface, while controlling the core to a different level. This results in a combination of high strength and wear resistance at the surface and a ductile/tough core.
BRAZING
At Hauck Heat Treatment we are able to provide several brazing processes tailored to your requirements. Braz-ing processes are joining processes where parts are connected in a high-quality manner by fusing with braz-ing material. Typically the strength of the brazed con-nection exceeds that of the base material.
THIN LAYER PROCESSES
Thin layer processes such as PVD and CVD apply extreme-ly high performance coatings to the products. The thick-ness of the film varies from a few nanometres to sever-al microns. Benefits include - very high hardness, wear resistance, anti-galling, re-duced friction, corrosion re-sistance, optical properties, and sheer beauty for decora-tive applications.
HOT ISOSTATIC PRESSING
Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP or ‘Hipping’), is the simul-taneous application of heat and high pressure to mate-rials. A HIP unit consists of a high temperature furnace enclosed within a pressure vessel. Work pieces are heat-ed under a uniform, isostatic pressure of inert Argon gas. The result is elimination of internal voids (i.e. porosity) and improved microstruc-ture.
The laboratories and testing areas at the differ-ent Hauck Heat Treatment locations have both the equipment and expertise that allows us to guaran-tee the level of supply chain security and quality that you require.
Within Hauck Heat Treatment we have a complete range of quality accreditations which vary per loca-tion. In addition we have many customer specific accreditations such as from aerospace primes.
