PROFESSIONAL ROOFING

Replacing Roof of School Building

We are pleased to report on the ongoing progress of

our roof replacement project. Work is continuing

very well with replacing the original roof from 1964

on the main school building, necessitated by the

expected aging process. Sixty tons of material (not

6 tons as previously noted) was removed from the

roof which included ballast rocks. This roof was

built to hold a tremendous amount of weight,

namely snow load, according to the standards at the

time. Today, three tons of new material will be used

in the updated rubber roof, which will also

incorporate needed New England insulation. We are

grateful to members of the School Community and

Religious Education Parents who contributed to this

important effort to help defray the cost.

LOUIS PASQUALUCCI & SONS

Replacing Front Walkway of Church

The front steps of the Church as well as the front

walkway will be replaced by a gradual decorative

cement walkway, enabling the front entrance of

the Church to be handicap accessible. This project

was announced as part of our Restricted Parish

Fund from donations of parishioners collected

during the Spring of 2015. This portion of the

project completes our Church sidewalk work that

was begun last Summer. Any further donations to

this important fund are appreciated.

6 Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

July 31th—Eighteenth Sunday

in Ordinary Time

“...rest, eat, drink, be merry!” Oh how

inviting this sounds! But Paul is wise and

kind to caution us (as he cautioned the

Colossians) to “Seek what is above...Put

to death, then, the parts of you that are

earthly” We are called to be in the world,

but not of the world. In fact, our task is to

sanctify the world around us. Difficult?

Sure. But not impossible—remember,

with God all things are possible. This

week, make a concentrated effort to ‘seek

what is above’ by adding five minutes to

your daily prayer time. And if daily prayer

isn’t yet a habit, start with just five

minutes of conversation with God who is

just waiting to hear from you.
