JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY: Our Holy Father, Pope Francis I, has announced a JUBILEE YEAR OF
MERCY to begin this Tuesday, December 8, on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin
Mary. This celebration of MERCY as the primary gift of Christ speaks to who we are called to be as His dis-
ciples. God’s grace comes to us as an unmerited gift. To be Merciful is to freely offer forgiveness to someone
worthy of punishment, or to release someone from a debt he or she owes. It speaks of compassion, the ability
to enter into someone else’s plight and sharing his or her burdens. This is what Jesus Christ accomplished for
us on the Cross of Calvary.
We will begin celebrating this JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY in our parish by expanding the opportunity to
celebrate the Sacrament of Mercy. Beginning next Saturday, December 12, and throughout the Season of Ad-
vent, Fr. Eschbach will be available for Confession every Saturday evening at 4:00pm, as well as on Tuesday
evenings from 6:30-7:30pm .
Further, during the Prayer of Intercession to overcome addictions, Fr. Eschbach will offer Benediction of the
Blessed Sacrament on Monday evenings beginning at 7:00pm, throughout the Season of Advent, beginning
Monday, December 14.
On Thursday evenings, at 7:00pm, also throughout Advent, Fr. Eschbach will lead the Charismatic Prayer
Group, calling down God’s merciful, compassionate love by offering prayer and anointing for those who are
sick by offering the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, beginning this Thursday, December 10.
PCCO
Parkesburg Churches Community Outreach (PCCO)
came together on Thanksgiving morning to provide
145 meals consisting of turkey, stuffing, potatoes,
corn, green beans, applesauce, cranberry sauce,
rolls, pie and a handmade card from our very own
PREP Children. The dinners were then delivered to
our local neighbors.
We had many volunteers who assisted in some way
to make this happen. Through this collaboration of
our churches, we were able to provide our commu-
nity with a blessed Thanksgiving feast.
All of the thoughtfulness, hard work, and special
touches are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and effort in this annual
fellowship.
Safe Environment Class
For anyone who needs to attend the Safe Environ-
ment Class, OLC will be hosting a session on Mon-
day, December 14, beginning at 1:00pm at the
SPC. You must register at www.virtus.org - space
is limited and will fill up fast!
PCCO-Parkesburg Churches
Community Outreach
The holidays are coming and more non-perishable
foods are needed to restock the Food Cupboard.
Please place donated items in the PCCO box at each
worship site.
We are truly grateful and appreciate all of the dona-
tions of food items we receive throughout the year.
Thank you!

BREAKING BREAD FUNDRAISER
TO BENEFIT OUR PARISH
Jesus multiplied the fish and bread, here is your
chance to multiply our Parish funds!
Come “Break Bread” at the Brass Eagle Restau-
rant this Wednesday, December 9, from 6:30am-
9:00pm. The Brass Eagle will contribute 20% of the
sales to our Parish. You just need to spread the
word, show up with your flyer and enjoy a great
meal! Look for flyers in the back of each worship
site and as a bulletin insert.
Everyone needs to eat right?
In the future, we would like to offer these dining
experiences on a monthly basis. Do you know of
any local restaurants that would like to contribute to
the cause? If so, please contact Erin Lazos or Jen
Kerstetter (610)639-2894. They would be happy to
help organize the event. Thanks for your support!
OLC-ELC
This week at OLC-ELC, we continue to prepare for
our Christmas pageant which will be held on
Wednesday, December 16, at 10:00am. We will
also celebrate the meaning of Christmas with our
class parties!
Looking ahead, our preschool will be closed for the
holidays beginning Thursday, December 17.
Classes will resume on Monday, January 4, 2016.
May the spirit of Christmas fill your heart and
home!
Noah Michael Ireson, son of Amy Ireson and Jody
Kennon, baptized on November 22, 2015.
CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE
As we have for the past several years, our parish
will participate in a Christmas Giving Program for
needy children.
The tags are on the trees at the back of each wor-
ship site through the weekend of December 5 & 6.
Please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. $50 limit per child, no gift cards.
2. If more than one gift is purchased for the
child, please package as one.
3. Mark each gift with the child’s first name,
child I.D. and family I.D.
4. Please return your gift to one of our wor-
ship sites by the deadline which is noted on
the tag.
It’s very important that donors return their gifts by
the December deadline to allow sufficient time for
the coordinators to prepare for the gift distribution.
Thank you so much for participating in this minis-
try.
For many children, this will be their only Christ-
mas gift.
If you have any questions, please contact Sandy
Hodorovich at [email protected] or call
484-716-3192. You may also call Mary Beth at the
rectory-610-857-3510.

“Life is a constant Advent season: we are continually
waiting to become, to discover, to complete, to fulfill.
Hope, struggle, fear, expectation and fulfillment are
all part of our Advent experience.”
“The world is not as just, not as loving, not as whole
as we know it can and should be. But the coming of
Christ and his presence among us-as one of us-give
us reason to live in hope: that light will shatter the
darkness, that we can be liberated from our fears and
prejudices, that we are never alone or abandoned.”
“May this Advent season be a time for bringing hope,
transformation and fulfillment into the Advent of our
lives.”
