Dear Parishioners, This weekend we celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. In the Catholic Church, we celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on Sundays and every day of the year ex-cept Good Friday. A sacrifice is an act of offe-ring something precious. Sometimes when we talk about going to church, partaking in the Eu-charist or receiving the Body and Blood of Christ; we may find ourselves not reflecting as much as we could on the great, profound, pre-cious action that Jesus makes every time the words of consecration are prayed by the priest at Mass. Jesus sacrifices himself again at the Mass to give us graces, strength and lead us to salvation. He only gives himself to us because he loves us without reservation. He loves us without limits. In the Catechism in article #1323, the gift of the Body and Blood of Christ is described as, “a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of cha-rity,…” In one of the prayers after the “Holy, Holy,…” we have the words, “As we eat his flesh that was sacrificed for us, we are made strong,….” This prayer, as well as the Catechism’s de-finition, reminds us of the effect that Holy Com-munion is to have on us. It is to make us more loving, united, charitable and strong in the Lord. Next week there will be an opportunity for us to exercise the love, unity, charity, and strength that the Jesus’ Body and Blood give to us. Next weekend we will be inviting all who have not yet given to the Annual Catholic Appeal to please make a sacrifice and give money so that servi-ces in the Diocese may be supported. In the weeks following, I will ask you to consider your charitable giving in the collection for our church as well as the Generations of Faith Campaign. Let us ask Jesus to show us how to be more like him by taking care of the needs of his body, the church.

Queridos Feligreses: Este fin de semana celebramos la solemnidad del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo. En la Iglesia Católica celebramos el Santo Sacrificio de la Mi-sa los domingos y todos los días del año excepto el Viernes Santo. Un sacrificio es el acto de ofre-cer algo precioso. A veces, cuando hablamos de ir a la iglesia, participar en la Eucaristía o reci-bir el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo; puede que no nos reflejemos tanto como podamos en la gran, profunda y preciosa acción que Jesús hace cada vez que las palabras de consagración son oradas por el sacerdote en la Misa. Jesús se sacrifica nuevamente en la Misa para darnos gracias, fortaleza y guíanos a la salvación Él solo se en-trega a nosotros porque nos ama sin reservas. Él nos ama sin límites. En el Catecismo del artículo 1323, el regalo del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo se describe como "un sacramento de amor, un signo de unidad, un vínculo de caridad, ..." En una de las oraciones después del "Santo, Santo" , ... "tenemos las pala-bras," Mientras comemos su carne que fue sacri-ficada por nosotros, nos hacen fuertes, ... ". Esta oración, así como la definición del Catecismo, nos recuerda el efecto que la Sagrada Comunión debe tener sobre nosotros. Es para hacernos más amorosos, unidos, caritativos y fuertes en el Se-ñor. La próxima semana tendremos la oportunidad de ejercer el amor, la unidad, la caridad y la fuerza que el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Jesús nos brindan. El próximo fin de semana estaremos invitando a todos los que aún no han dado a la Campaña Católica Anual a hacer un sacrificio y dar dinero para que los servicios en la Diócesis puedan ser apoyados. En las semanas siguien-tes, le pediré que considere sus donaciones bené-ficas en la colección de nuestra iglesia, así como en la campaña Generations of Faith. Pidamos a Jesús que nos muestre cómo ser más como él al cuidar las necesidades de su cuerpo, la iglesia.

Our Lady of Fatima should share in the profits. For each car, truck or van, running or not. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will give back to our church $50/100 per vehicle. Maybe you don’t have a vehicle, but a family member, friend or neighbor has an old or neglected vehicle in their driveway that they would like to dispose of.
