INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Dear Parishioners, Last Sunday there were a variety of notable themes that drew our attention. One point of focus was Jesus as the Good Shepherd. Since 1963 Catholics have designated Good Shepherd Sunday as the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. We set time aside to meditate on our vocations and pray that all may generously respond to the call of the Good Shepherd in one’s life. This Sunday we have 70 young people who will be answering the call of God to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. They are a visible sign that God is calling us into a deeper relationship with him and the church. Bishop James Massa will be anointing them with oil saying, “Be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.” The Lord will be sealing them or putting his mark on them as his disciples who will have received the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit in order to confirm their faith by the way they live their lives in the world. They will be empow-ered to be witnesses of Christ by what they say and do. We also will be welcoming back this Sunday Elvin Torres. Elvin is a seminarian studying at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, MA. He is studying to be a priest and came last year at this time to share in our parish life and ministry. Elvin is another reminder that God is calling us to continue to take steps in serving him more in our lives. The sacra-ments nourish and strengthen us by Christ’s grace to become more like Christ working with him to produce an abundant harvest for the Kingdom of God. This Sunday we hear Jesus in the gospel tell us “…love one another.” In this month of Mary let us pray for each other that we may offer our lives to Christ, as Mary did, by saying yes to our vocation and the commandment to love one another as Jesus as loved us.

Monday, May 27th is Memorial Day. Please note that there will be NO MASS at 7:00 A.M. and the church will be locked after the 8:30 AM Mass. There will be NO EVENING NOVENA. FIESTA EN HONOR A SAN ANTONIO

El jueves 13 de junio tendremos una Misa bilingue a las 7:30 PM en honor a San Antonio de Padua.

DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PÁRROCO Queridos Feligreses: El domingo pasado hubo una variedad de temas que llamaron nuestra atención. Un punto de enfoque fue Jesús como el Buen Pastor. Desde 1963, los católicos han designado el Domingo del Buen Pastor como el Día Mundial de Oración por las Vocaciones. Dedicamos un tiempo para meditar en nuestras vocaciones y oramos para que todos puedan responder generosamente al llamado del Buen Pastor en la vida de uno. Este domingo tenemos 70 jóvenes que responderán al llamado de Dios para recibir el Sacramento de la Confirmación. Son una señal visible de que Dios nos está llamando a una relación más profunda con él y con la iglesia. El obispo James Massa los ungirá con aceite diciendo: "Sellado con el don del Espíritu Santo". El Señor los sellará o dejará su marca en ellos como sus discípulos que habrán recibido los siete dones del Espíritu Santo para confir-mar su fe por la forma en que viven sus vidas en el mundo. Tendrán poder para ser testigos de Cristo por lo que dicen y hacen. Este domingo daremos la bienvenida nuevamente a Elvin Torres. Elvin es un seminaris ta que estudia en el Seminario Nacional Papa St. John XXIII en Weston, MA. Él está estudi-ando para ser sacerdote y vino el año pasado en esta temporada para compartir nuestra vida parroquial y nuestro ministerio. Elvin es otro recordatorio de que Dios nos está llamando a continuar tomando medidas para servirle más en nuestras vidas . Los sacra-mentos nos nutren y fortalecen por la gracia de Cristo para ser más como Cristo trabajan-do con él para producir una cosecha abundante para el Reino de Dios. Este domingo escuchamos a Jesús en el evangelio que nos dice "... amémonos unos a ot-ros". En este mes de María, oremos unos por otros para que podamos ofrecer nuestras vidas a Cristo, como lo hizo María, al decir sí a nuestra vocación y al mandamiento. Amemosnos los unos a otros como Jesús nos amó.
