A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR….

Dear Parishioners,

Alleluia! Alleluia! Jesus is Risen, Alleluia!

With Easter joy we celebrate the great news of our salva1on. Together, during the

weeks of Lent and the past Holy Week, we have been touched by the story of Jesus’ passion,

death and resurrec1on. By recalling the Paschal Mystery in our prayers and liturgies, He invites us now to share

in His victory over sin and death.

As we journey through this new Easter season, I encourage you to con1nue with the spiritual progress

you have obtained with moments of prayer, fas1ng and almsgiving. I invite you to connect with many of the

different offerings for spiritual growth that are available each week here at Our Lady of Grace. Some of these

opportuni1es include Holy Hour, Scripture Study, Choir, Men’s Group, Youth Ministry and so much more I also

would like to encourage those who want to know more about their faith, or who are in need of any of the sacra-

ments of ini1a1on (Bap1sm, Communion or Confirma1on), to join in the parish’s Rite of Chris1an Ini1a1on for

Adults. These classes meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the convent building. For more informa1on on

the RCIA process, please contact me at the rectory office.

On behalf of Deacon Alex, the rectory staff and myself, we extend to you our Easter prayers

and blessings.

 A blessed and joyous Easter!

        Sincerely Yours in Christ,

       Fr. Marc Swartvagher

Fraternitas: A program for boys in 68th grades. These are monthly gatherings held at Cathedral Prep on the third Saturday of the month from 15 pm with Catechesis, sports and Sunday Vigil Mass.

Jeremiah Project: A discernment group for public and Catholic high school students. Any young man of high school age is welcome. It is a monthly overnight, to experience Christ through fraternity and prayer. The overnights are held at Cathedral Seminary. Our remain-ing overnight encounters are April 67 and May 45.

Hundredfold Workshop: On Saturday, April 14th, a workshop will be offered for clergy, parish vocaon com-mi>ee members, catechists and teachers. This work-shop will be offered in both English and Spanish. Learn how to promote vocaons in your parish and how to make a concrete plan for your parish ministry. The day will begin at 9 am and conclude at 3 pm at the Immaculate Concepon Center in Douglaston.

If I go to seminary, does that mean I’m going to become a priest? If I enter a religious order, will I automacally become a nun for life? No. This is me of further discernment. If you go to the convent and then start to feel unpeaceful, or think you want to date aer all, you can leave. Simple as that. Same with seminary. (By the way, most people, even if they leave, are very grateful for their me in formaon. It’ll make you a be#er Catholic for the rest of your life.)

I admit it. I’ve actually thought about becoming a priest. You’re in good company. Though they oen won’t admit it,

tons of Catholic guys have passing thoughts about the priest-

hood. The problem is, they typically shove the thoughts aside

either because they’re afraid of celibacy, or think they’re not

good enough. Instead of ignoring these thoughts, find out

what priesthood is really liked! If you really want to know,

read “To Save a Thousand Souls: A Guide for Discerning a

Vocaon to the Diocesan Priesthood.”

Scripture Sharing Resumes

Arise Together in Christ Season IV is over.

All parcipants had a wonderful faithfilled

more about Jesus. So if you skipped Arise, now is your

chance to get on board and find out what all the

parcipants of Arise are talking about. It is never too

late to start awakening yourself up to Scripture reading.

Don’t let that beauful light go out! Join us every Tuesday evening starng April 10th at 7:15 in the convent to keep

that flame burning!
