¡HOY!

TODAY! Sunday, April 3, 2:45 pm
Extraordinary Jubilee Celebration of Divine Mercy
“The Feast and Hour of Great Mercy” Take advantage of this incredible promise and the additional Plenary Indulgence of this great Feast of Mercy.
2:45 p.m.: Holy Hour (NO Mass) Saint Faustina’s Relic will be present.
Presiding: Rev. Martin Tran and Deacon José Manuel Chavez
Why did Pope Francis call the Jubilee Year of Mercy? It’s the Holy Father’s belief that the present age is an oppor-tune moment of mercy (Papal Press Conference, July 28, 2013). This is also the teaching transmitted by St. Fausti-na Kowalska in her Diary: [Jesus said,] "I am prolonging the time of mercy for the sake of [sinners]. But woe to them if they do not recognize this time of My visita-tion" (Diary, 1160). "Before the Day of Justice I am send-ing the Day of Mercy." (1588) "He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice." (1146) “I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially poor sin-ners. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet . . . Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mer-cy.” (699)
OLG Small Groups growing faith in circles
Seven reasons why small, faith sharing groups that meet weekly in homes are im-portant to Catholic Christians at OLG: 1. Jesus modeled small group ministry with the Apostles. 2. Meeting in the home is modeled by the early church. 3. Small groups give us a heightened sense of belong-
ing to our church community and faith family. 4. Small groups help us grow and mature spiritually. 5. It’s a place to go to be known, loved, and cared for. 6. Forming bonds and deeper friendships with fellow
Catholics helps faith to grow. 7. Small Groups are where Faith Formation occurs out-
side of our big Church.

Access for the Disabled Parking and ramps for the disabled are located on the west side/transept of the church (the “piano side”). The front pews on that side provide easy access for those with walkers and wheelchairs. Holy Communion can be brought to those who have difficulty in coming forward in procession. Advise an ush-er before Mass and he/she will ensure that a Eucharistic Minister will bring Communion to the pew. To simplify this, the handicapped person should sit in the front pew or along one of the aisles in the west transept. Note that Fire Department regulations prohibit walkers and wheelchairs from blocking aisles. Please follow the directions of the ushers in safe placement of these items.
