FIESTA UPDATE

Return the stubs and money of the Grand Raffle to the rectory at your earliest convenience.

The school will be closed on October 8, 9, & 12 (Thursday, Friday & Monday)-There are no classes on these days.

There are no Religious Educa on classes on October 9 & 10 (Friday & Saturday). And also no Confirma on classes on Monday, Oct 12.

Any other parish group or ac vity scheduled to meet from Tuesday, Oct 6 thru Monday, Oct 12 in any of the church’s facili es will have to cancel their mee ng.

Everything resumes with the regular schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

SET UP TIME: Star ng Wednesday, October 7 evening,

electricians, master carpenters, or anyone wishing to help set up the FIESTA STANDS are

needed.

TODO SOBRE LA FIESTA

Regrese los talones y el dinero de la Rifa a la oficina parroquial lo mas pronto posible.

La escuela parroquial no tendrá clases el jueves 8, viernes 9 y lunes 12 de octubre.

No habrá clases de catecismo el viernes 9, ni sábado 10 de octubre. Tampoco habrá clases de Confirmación el lunes 12 de octubre.

Todo grupo que tenga algún encuentro (reunión) en las facilidades de la iglesia entre los días del martes 6 al lunes 12 de octubre deberá cancelar su reunión.

El martes 13 de octubre regresamos al horario de costumbre.

Se necesitan electricistas, carpinteros, y cualquier otro hombre con mar llo a la mano para que nos ayude a preparar los puestos de

la fiesta. Vengan el miércoles, 7 de octubre por la tarde o por la

noche.

Concerning divorce and children—Equality of wife and husband Some people are more interested in the letter of the law than the spirit of the law. The Pharisees tried to test Jesus by asking him if he agreed with the law of Moses regarding divorce. Jesus draws their attention to the true meaning of marriage. He reminds the Pharisees of the teaching from Genesis about the man and the woman becoming one flesh. Jesus is focusing on God's loving plan for marriage partners. Jesus gives advice concerning the relationship between wife and husband and between mothers and children. In those days, many people were excluded and marginalized. For instance, in the relationship between husband and wife, male domination prevailed. The wife could not take part, did not have equal rights with the husband. In the relationship between husband and wife, Jesus com-manded the greatest equality. In the second story, Jesus scolds his disciples for trying to keep the little children away from him. He hugs, holds, and blesses the children. Once again he teaches that all who follow him must trust in God and openly accept the Good News. In the relationship between mothers and children, he commanded the greatest warmth and tenderness. Sobre el divorcio y los niños - Igualdad de la mujer y el hombre Algunas personas están más interesadas en la letra de la ley que en su espíritu. Los fariseos trataron de probar a Jesús preguntándole si el estaba de acuerdo con la ley de Moisés referente al divorcio. Jesús dirige su atención al verdadero significado del matrimonio. El recuerda a los fariseos la enseñanza del Génesis sobre el hombre y la mujer ser un solo cuerpo. Jesús se basa en el plan amoroso de Dios para la pareja matrimonial. Jesús da consejos sobre la relación entre el hombre y la mujer y sobre las madres y los niños. En aquel tiempo mucha gente era excluida y marginada. Por ejemplo, en la relación entre hombre y mujer existía el machismo. La mujer no podía participar, no había igualdad de derecho entre los dos. En la relación entre hombre y mujer, Jesús pide el máximo de igualdad. En la segunda historia, Jesús reprende a sus discípulos por tratar de que los niños no se le acerquen. El abraza y bendice a los niños. Una vez más enseña que todos los que los siguen deben confiar en Dios y abiertamente aceptar la buena nueva. En la relación entre las madres y los niños, él pide la máxima acogida y ternura.
