The Catholic Church is the Church founded by Jesus
Christ; it is the same Church mentioned in the New
Testament of the Christian Bible. The term "Catholic"
means "according to the whole;" it was used early in the
Church's history to distinguish her from a number of
other gatherings whose teachings and practices were not
true to the authoritative teachings of Christ's apostles. All
human persons are invited and encouraged to accept the
salvation offered by Jesus through His one, holy, catholic
and apostolic Church by living the sacramental life offered
by the Catholic Church. It is the mission of Our Lady of
the Prairie Catholic Church to offer this life to the people
of Belle Plaine, Minnesota and its environs.

STAFFING CHANGES
Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of the Prairie:
As you may have already heard, a number of staffing changes
are taking place at Our Lady of the Prairie. My tenure as
pastor will end on Tuesday, June 30, and Fr. Kaluza’s term will
start on Wednesday, July 1. On Sunday, June 28, starting at
noon, I will be in the parking lot and available to say good-
bye to anyone who would like to “drive by.”
It is also the case the Loree Heinkel’s final day of employment
at Our Lady of the Prairie will be Saturday, June 27. I have
asked Loree to join me in the parking lot at noon on Sunday,
June 28 so that you have a convenient opportunity to say
good-bye to her as well.
Kelly Pumper will be transitioning from her current set of
responsibilities to those of the Parish Business
Administrator. As a consequence, we are looking to hire an
administrative assistant. This position not only requires the
traditional clerical skills needed in an office, but also, a love
and devotion for both our parish and our school. Please
apply by sending your cover letter and resume to Our Lady of
the Prairie.
Deacon Jim Bauhs has been working as our interim Parish
Business Administrator for the past several weeks. He will
continue in this interim position for a number of weeks during
the summer; however, Kelly will eventually take over and
Deacon Jim will move on to a new set of responsibilities that
Archbishop Hebda has assigned to him.
Thanks for all of your support of me and all our OLP staff
members over the last several years. I have learned a lot
about myself, including a number of personal limitations. As
you may recall, I have been assigned to be the parochial vicar
(associate pastor) at Transfiguration in Oakdale. I hope that
the fewer administrative and financial responsibilities of an
associate pastor will be a better fit for me, and that Fr. Kaluza
will help Our Lady of the Prairie Church and School reach their
full potentials.
